All I can say as a native Hawaiian this place offers authentic local kine Hawaiian food. It is rare to find a Hawaiian restaurant that offers lau lau. I got #19 Lau lau, kalua pork n cabbage w/ mac salad n steamed rice. Everything was so ono! The authentic flavor and the way everything was cooked transported me back home to the island of Oahu, cooking a feast w/ my ohana on a special day. Definitely would like to see huli huli chicken, chicken longrice, and lomilomi salmon on the menu added as options to order. I did get a guava, mango, and lilokoi passionfruit offering the taste of the islands fruits. The smoothie was so ono and was my first impression of the restaurant before my food order was ready. The portion of food is well worth the price. It's actually a breath of fresh air to get what you pay for. Mahalo to the Hawaiian Drive Inn staff and management. Next time I come visit please have the haupia and malasadas. Mahalo plenty
Huge portions for a good price! Owner had great aloha and welcoming vibes for all customers. BBQ Chicken was very moist and flavorful and Katsu was nice and crispy and juicy.
Overall, the food is very consistent here. The chicken teriyaki is always tender. The shrimp could be a little less crunchy but it still good. My kids love their food. Great for take out. Parking is limited at certain time.
Didn't have the best experience in my first time here. My wife and I got food poisoning. Food had an "off" taste. We came in because there were a lot of people ordering take out so we assumed the locals ate here.Food: 2/5
The first time I ate here was for Lunch, the food was very fresh and really good.., so a few weeks later myself and a friend decided to stop and order takeout, it was close too closing time which may explain why it was NOTHING like my first experience it seemed like we were giving Leftovers the food was 'awful' the Chicken was very Dry and looked as though it had been sitting under a heat-light and the portion was very small compared to the lunch hour... My suggestion is if you're going to eat there lunchtime is probably the best time....
My first time eating at this location and the food was delicious!!! Will definitely be returning. Bathrooms were clean and everyone was friendly. Give this place a try.
Great place for shaved ice. We got the Fruit Punch, Watermelon, Pineapple, and Cherry. They also have a huge food selection and we will be back to try that. The little shopping center where it is located is always crowded so getting a parking is not easy.
You know what's better than a regular restaurant? This place! The food is like a hug for your taste buds, and the crew is as friendly as your favorite barista. If you're into memorable meals in a relaxed environment, you've found your new hangout.Food: 5/5
A little run down looking, but the food is ono! So dont judge a book by its cover. Looks like everything is cooked fresh to order, so you'll have to wait about 10 minutes give our take a few minutes. But its worth the wait. Lots of menu choices. We ordered the chicken katsu and the fried fish. We ate in, the food came on these giant plates. It had 2 scoops of rice, 1 scoop of Mac salad, green salad and the protein. It was alot, we ended up taking it home.
We got a seafood and bbq chicken combo to share among two people. It was a filling and satisfying dinner for both of us, however, the seafood pieces seemed to have more breading than meat on them. Just beware that the interior of the restaurant is less put together than a neglected fast food restaurant, and the place seems to be more intended for to go orders. 5 stars for the quantity and satisfying nature of the food.
