HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital was an ideal place for mom to get great care and rehabilitation following surgery for a badly broken ankle. Case manager Dexter followed through on all our concerns and helped facilitate getting mom's needs met during her 12 day stay and subsequent trip home. The daily therapy was rigorous yet tailored to the patient's physical limitations. Lots of encouragement helped mom try harder to achieve and improve. We were over 1,000 miles away from home with no family in the area. The entire staff of HealthSouth made us feel welcome and cared for. It was possible to order a dinner tray to eat a tasty meal with mom every night in the HealthSouth cafeteria. Everyone who worked there was part of a very impressive healthcare team. We were impressed with the facility's light and airy environment, cleanliness, and upkeep. Without reservation, our family would highly recommend HealthSouth at Altamonte Springs, Florida!

I was a patient from middle of Dec. until Dec. 30th. The care I had was wonderful. I had fallen and have pelvic fractures. I spent both my birthday and Christmas with you. Thank you I will be forever grateful . I will want to thank Heather and Kaitlyn for therapy. I know you are now Encompasshealth. David OT, and Sharon PT are now caring for me at home. Again wonderful care. Thank you.

This place is horrible. The stuff is bad. My dad went for rehab for his need they didn’t take care of him how they should had. Because they didn’t give him the proper her he is no longer with us. He kept telling them he didn’t feel well they just gave me pain killer anxiety pills and sleeping pills he got so sick that he left and was put in ICU then in life support. Please don’t your love ones here.

This is a fairly new facility that appears to be clean as far as the eyes can see. The rooms are private and that's the reason why I chose this facility for my family member. This was the biggest mistake I have ever made. My loved one received extremely poor care. Hygiene was neglected until I brought it up to the staff in the third week of stay. I had no Idea he was not receiving P.M care, occasionally he would receive A.M care depending on the Tech who was on... He had 2 showers in 3 weeks and 3 days. His wound dressings were not changed as scheduled. The Wound Car Coordinator Nilma promised all these great and wonderful procedures that she would use to heal the 2 wounds. Instead, the wound that should have been done every other day was done 3 times in 3 weeks and 3 days. When I brought my loved one home, I took him to the podiatrist because he had blisters from boots that were worn to protect the feet from pressure sores. The podiatrist had him admitted to the hospital immediately. A culture was done of his wound and we were informed that he had MERSA in the wound that was done 3x in 3 weeks. I also found out some days depending which staff members were working Hydration was a problem. When water was requested it took at least 3 to 4 times of ringing the call light before water would be brought to the room. Despite this nightmare, there were still some really helpful people who did their job...The Physical Therapist Anna did a very good job in helping my loved one. Some of the nurses like Roger, Molly, Conchita, and Tech. Aikea, Allison, and Wendell. These are some of the caregivers that did an excellent job when they were working..The Case Manager Lakesha did an excellent job also. She is very detailed, conscientious and works very hard to make sure follow-up appointments were taken care of. When it was time for discharge she took care of everything that was necessary. Beware not all that glitters is gold..I have used Florida Hospital Winter Park previously which gives excellent care. The only reason why I didn't this time was they don't have private rooms. It would have been better to have a semi-private room verse the problems my loved one is enduring now. Delete review

This place became life threatening to me which ultimately led to me transferring to another facility. They were not attentive to my surgical wound from back surgery and I got a really bad infection to which Pam, case manager and Illiam Fuentes Torado, chief medical director did not care. I sat in my own urine filled sheets, soild from drainage for 2 days until my dad demanded for them to be changed. If it wasn't for Nilma, I would have gone septic and they would not have cared. Nilma deserves for her knowledge to be used in a facility that runs better. Health South can rebuttal this review all they want but I have pictures, like a piece of hair found on my wound after being changed by one of their nurses. Or soiled sheets, or dirty bathroom and recordings where the chief director literally laughed at me when I voiced my concerns and said I couldn't prove the infection came from his facility, I was under their care for 72 hours at that point. I am already speaking with state health management, I come from a long list of family members who work at hospitals and they are sharing these concerns to other orthopedic facilities. They lie to you even during admission. Jason, a rehab representative will sell you health south like it's a new car but once you go to health south, you never see him again. He lies about the quality of health south and insults their competitors, like ORI, which is an outstanding facility. Please, refuse this facility because we are working very hard to make sure state health departments and organizations are aware of all the wrong doings of this facility starting with pre-admission.
