Overlooking the peaceful Clearwater River and the historic Lewis and Clark Trail, the elegant and romantic Hearthstone Elegant Lodge is the original lodge at river's edge, nestled among the pines on 60 acres. Lewis and Clark called this area "Paradise Valley."

Quiet and romantic, restful and serene, Hearthstone Lodge is a bed & breakfast country inn equipped with world class amenities including Jacuzzi tubs for two, forest and river view balconies, cathedral ceilings, canopied custom beds with antique headboards, wood burning fireplaces, embroidered robes, and delicious breakfasts in our in-town bakery to start your day. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Hearthstone. The rooms are very regal, yet remain comfortable. Marjorie and Harty were absolutely wonderful hosts, making us feel right at home. We found out Harty was a real estate Broker, and he was kind enough to take some time to talk to us about the local market and what life is like in the area. We plan on staying here again when we're back in the area.

I so love this place. I would recommend it to those who are looking for a very peaceful stay. I so.love their log cabin.

Travelers be aware! The Crazy lady that owns this place (Marjorie Schmael) thinks she knows everything about hotel bookings! She will take your credit card info and make-up charges on it! It took me 3 months to get back ($400) after a dispute with my credit card company for a room I cancelled then she contested the charges! We NEVER even stayed there! Plus I was NEVER quoted $400 for 1 night that she says I didn't cancel! Not my fault she has a disfunctional reservation system! Anyway, I won the dispute!!!:) My advice is make sure you get everything in writing! Which she NEVER provided to me! Also, we grew up in the area and there a lot of nicer, and cheaper places to stay if you go further up the river out of Kooskia right along the Clearwater River in the Syringa and Three Rivers area. We cancelled because she is known in the community to be dishonest and you don't get what you see in the pictures. Dirty and VERY overpriced! This lady's response is nothing but a lie. Chase Bank decided in my favor because I documented her conversation about refunding me and her apologizing because she didn't have any records of my reservation or cancellation!!!! Too bad Marjorie! I am telling all my friends and family in the area that you are a scam artist! Some have stated they are already aware of her reputation in Kamiah

Beautiful and relaxing place to retreat with your significant other. The owners made us feel so at home and the decor was absolutely breathe taking!
