This place has been with me since I was a kid. I look at all the negative reviews posted below, and i cant understand why this place would get a bad review. All the way from the top this place is and always has been solid. They couldn't pay me to leave and go somewhere else, I truly mean that. As for the staff I work with 1 person, and 1 person only "Joel" hes told me no and hes told me yes. Hes done more for me then just tell me to save money, or cash a check, or open a savings account. He took the time to get to know me and continues to go above and beyond to make sure i never feel like a forgotten member of this bank. Now on to management. They say it starts at the top. Kathy the president leads by example, she takes time to get to know her members as well. She also works as a teller on occasion and has personally cashed checks of mine. I had a concern with my account a couple months back and Instead of a manager calling to handle the concern she called me personally. Again leading by example is not taken lightly with Kathy.

Bottom Line is this. If you are looking for a Credit Union that will get to know you on a personal level, go above and beyond just taking and storing your money. This is the place to be. Anyone that says otherwise is crazy wrong. 

Thanks to everyone at Heartland that has made my experience great.

Always very friendly people, always loved banking here but was a little disappointed when they cleaned out my savings and checking about BEFORE telling me they were going to do it to pay on a loan that was in default that I co-signed on.  I understand, but the least they could have done was tell me so I wouldn't write out checks that would bounce!

This place is a joke. Very unfriendly service all the way to the top of the chain with President Kathy Harrington herself. They boast themselves all over about how they help the community... Pfft what a joke. They will screw you over every single chance they get. Including wanting to get paid for sitting on their high and mighty butts to do absolutely NOTHING. If i could give negative score, I would. 
Every chance they get they screwed me over... A single mother, who gave detailed instructions about my account.

I've had accounts with HCU for 8 years.  I've never had a bad experience with them.  Their tellers are always friendly and helpful.  A few years ago, I had a problem with an inaccurate credit report from another bank that caused my credit score to suddenly plummet.  An HCU manager helped to explain the issues that affected my credit and gave me instructions on how to quickly resolve them.  I just wish that HCU had a branch closer to my new job on the northwest side of the Metro.  I know they partner services with a lot of different credit unions, but I prefer working directly with HCU.
