I go there often for salt water based  needs and wants, love the selection, care, and help. I make a point to deal with Chris only, due to the inconvenience feeling I feel from the other staff. on average I spend $1000 or more a year there, this time I had to return a light due to .1 not needing it and 2 sick kids needing over the counter meds and food for there sickness needs. the first time I sent my wife down and at that time she was in a hurry to get to work so getting the receipt was last on her mind. we got the light 1/11/18 @ 6:56pm and spent 300.00 in one sitting.  she was told it was now "used" and they would only give $80.00 in store credit "normally I would say great" given what they had to work with and policy when my wife took it down there. the light was $169.99.  it was installed 1 1\2 days ago and only 1 day run time. a little bit later the same day I sent my room mate down this time with the original receipt and even called before I sent him down there. I asked for the managers and none where available, but asked if maybe he could help me.. he said yep NP, I told him the story and what was happening and to the T. I did not leave out any details. I told him I had all the proper stuff. he explained the refund policy I quote " Returns accepted within 30 days of sale with original sales receipt and item purchased. "  and being 4 days old and all the stuff in there, I was well with in the time frame and  met all the requirements per there policy. I also told him I paid cash, he said NP he would pay cash back..I then told him I was sending my roommate down. he said np he would just have to have him leave his info incase of a problem if there ever was. I said ok np, he then stated he has never had anyone called back. so I sent my roommate down. only to be called buy the employee saying he could not take it due to patty instructions and  they would only give $80 and only in store credit. then was told to save problems, to bring it in the morning and deal with patty. 
In the 18 years I have been going there this is a first and hopefully a miss understanding. bottom line communication is key and the policy told to the customer over the phone but also on the bottom of the receipt needs to be upheld and honored. I don't return stuff unless its really needed or broke.  I did not count on my two girls getting sick or being given a set of coral LED lights from my neighbor that are less the a year old.  life happens we don't need owners kicking our legs out from under us and that's the way we feel.   I am giving one star in the hopes of a positive updating with the out come tomorrow.      

p.s. the light looks like it was never opened other then manual witch has a rub tear  due to wife was trying to wipe off a number she wrote on there in a split moment all lettering is very readable, and the batteries where unwrapped.

Best fish selection in Billings!  Always healthy and great variety.  Products here are also a better price than chain pet. Very knowledgeable staff.

This store has good quality at reasonable prices, clean atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff. It gets my vote over other places for small animal, reptile, fish etc...
