Story

The beauty of knowing oneself, with acceptance and not with judgement, is evident in the way that life's ups and downs can be tolerated. Emotional peaks and valleys are a natural part of the human condition and now, more than ever, stressors are a part of our everyday life; it's the way that we handle them that makes the difference between painful feelings of depression, isolation, and low self esteem and a sense of equanimity and grace, even as we move through the valleys. Shedding light on the origins of your feelings and reactions can help you to know yourself.

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and I use an integrative approach to help understand why you feel the way you do and where those feelings may be coming from. I have extensive training and experience in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and I treat inviduals, couples, and families for a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, low self-esteem, and challening relationships.

In additon to my general practice, I specialize in infertility, adoption, and diverse family formation; this includes, but is not limited to, issues surrounding reproductive challenges and technologies, adoption, surrogacy, donor eggs and sperm, same sex parents, and those who choose to remain childless. My knowledge of and experience with infertility, and the multitude of ways in which you can choose to build your family greatly informs my clinical work.

I have a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and was trained at Valley Community Clinic in North Hollywood. I continue to train at the Psychoanalytic Center of California and am certified in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. I am a member in good standing of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, The Society for Assisted Reproductive Medicine, and RESOLVE, the National Infertility Association
