Our History:
We started buying vintage fine jewelry in 1997. Four years later, in 2001, we had accumulated a large enough inventory and we started selling at antique shows. In 2017, twenty years after we started in the business, we opened the doors of Hermit Hill, our first brick and mortar store, at 38 Lake Street in Owego, New York.
Our Mission:
Our Mission at Hermit Hill is to preserve the best of yesterday’s beauty, artistry and craftsmanship, to promote the appreciation of those values and the items that exemplify them, and to make those items available to you at our store at 38 Lake Street, Owego, New York.
Environmental Ethic:
We believe in the environmental ethics of using vintage items instead of the purchasing new items. Each time a new item is produced, natural resources are consumed and there is an impact on the environment. When you choose a vintage item instead of a new item, there is no environmental impact and no resource consumption. One more reason to feel good about getting more for your money!
PARKING:
While shopping at Hermit Hill you may use our customer parking spot, off the Church Street public parking lot, right behind the store.
HOURS:
In addition to being open noon 'til 6:00 Thursday through Saturday,, on the first Friday of the month we are open late 'til 8:00, and on the first and third Sunday of the month we are open noon 'til 4:00. If you can't make it in during our regular hours, we can also be open by appointment.
DOGS:
Our dog "Rosebud" is our official greeter. She loves meeting people and getting petted. When you visit our store she might bring you her favorite toy to ask you for some petting.
If you're allergic or afraid, we have a back room that we can put her in during your visit.
If you have your dog with you, we can put Rosebud in our back room (she's an alpha and she isn't as friendly to dogs as to people).
