Story

Our Curriculum

Preschool through Grade 2

The Primary curriculum is built around holidays and mitzvot as well as special activity times for singing, dancing, crafts, and library. Hebrew words are integrated into the classes so children become familiar with the sounds.

Grade 3 to Middle School

Students learn to read and write Hebrew, to daven from the siddur, becoming familiar with the Synagogue services. They learn about all areas of Jewish life: ritual, ethics, life cycle, history, the Jewish calendar, and how this is meaningful to their lives.

Bar and Bat Mitzvah

Young people, age 13, may celebrate this rite of passage upon completion of Synagogue school requirements. Heska Amuna supplies personalized instruction with a tutor and the Rabbi. (Adults may also celebrate Bar and Bat Mitzvah upon consultation with the Rabbi.)
Prozdor students meet once a week for special classes geared to teenage interests, leading to confirmation, taught by the Rabbi, Prozdor Director, and other gifted teachers.
