Yallah FLOCK to this place. My friends, family, and I are always seeking Palestinian owned spots to support when we travel and were thrilled to find this bright and beautiful space. The iced coffee with their house made Damascus Gate syrup was lovely. We snacked on their roasted hummus, which were wonderful as well. SO happy to have this place as an inclusive option for us in the mostly white up north.
I can’t describe how the food is good, you should come and try it. Well done , with nice spin from the Chef Service is great, nice ambience I truly recommend this place, it is a must when you’re in Traverse City
I loved everything about Hexenbelle! The atmosphere especially the patio was lovely and inviting. The coffee was delicious, if a bit pricey. The service was kind and attentive. And the FOOD!!! I had the Fūl breakfast plate -- a flavorful fava bean stew with an amazing array of spices and herbs mixed in. The tomatoes on top added the perfect amount of acid and brightness. It came with a fried egg and the runny yolk added a beautiful depth of flavor and richness to the fūl. It was also served with a warm pita drizzled with olive oil and a bit of coarse salt. Yum!! This dish was so hearty and filling, it could easily be a breakfast for 2 people maybe just order and extra egg/pita. I saved half of my fūl for lunch and it was excellent as a leftover. The texture was delicious -- the beans were the perfect texture.
The food was amazing. The Bayd Bil Lebnah was one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. The people created a wonderful sense of family and community. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
Absolutely fantastic experience. I don't think I've ever had better coconut curry fried rice. The breakfast pita was delicious and the eggs were perfectly cooked. The coffee was excellent as well. Right when you walk in you'll notice the open kitchen so if you sit inside you can see the food being made which is a nice little treat. Or you can sit outside and enjoy the quiet little veranda.
Excellent! I ordered online for pick up and to-go. I showed up a little early with my yeti in tow so they could brew my coffee in that. I got the Damascus Gate to drink and to eat the breakfast pita, vegan donut, and peanut butter tahini cookie. The staff were friendly and found my order right away. They started me with my baked goods while I waited for the rest then brought it out to me. The coffee drink was superb! Seriously the best I’ve had in ages. Highly recommend if you like anything similar to a chai latte. I did add an extra espresso shot to mine. The chipotle sauce on the breakfast pita was smokey and just a touch spicy perfect for breakfast food, I don’t like really spicy first thing in the morning. The vegan donut I got was cinnamon sugar - perfect finish after that breakfast pita. Lastly, don’t tell your grandma but these peanut butter cookies far surpass anything she’s made you. Nice crisp outside and soft inside. The balance of flavors is perfect. One was not enough. The restaurant was very clean as well and you could easily tell the guests and the workers were all happy to be there. Overall, a perfect little gem you must check out.
Had brunch of the breakfast pita, shashouka, and brewed coffee shared with friends and it was some of the best food I've ever tasted! Highly recommend!Food: 5/5
Wallah one of the best Palestinian dishes served in the state of Michigan. From living in almost every corner and center within the state including Dearborn, I have not had tasted middle eastern food so authentic yet true to the new generation of Palestinians. The servers and chefs were great, nice people who were down to sit and talk. I also ordered a caramel latte, and I truly mean it when I say, this coffee was so tasty so delicious, I can’t ever step foot in another coffee shop again. None will compare. Please trust me when I say, you NEED to go here.
It was very busy when I went on a cold day, but you can sit at any of the tables around the market building as well. Service was friendly and fast even though it was busy, and the chai latte was perfectly spiced cardamom! and the dill labneh dish was incredible. Love the food options here.Food: 5/5
Best iced latte I’ve ever had. Hands down. Holy cow.
