Let me first start out and say don't go to this place. These old old old people running this place are old and about to die. They're living off the income off these rentals spaces to live. You rent the space but buy the home. This mobile home park is on their property where they live. We are very Snoopy. I drove in and turned around by aside and I called them about it. He tells me that I did read the sign and the sign says residents only. I told him I had to turn around. Having read previous reviews about this man I know he angry and he shoots at people so we drove away. Again don't go to this place.

We have been privileged to be residents of this beautiful retirement community since our retirement last year. We came from Ohio looking for a spot to put a Park Model log cabin, and were very excited to find Happy's Hideaway Park. The beauty and serenity of this Park were more than we had hoped for. We love the way the paved roads meander up the hill, around the large rocks, and how each cabin is positioned for privacy and to fit in with the natural landscaping. We called and made an appointment to meet with Happy, found him to be very friendly and accommodating, and we chose a lot for our cabin. He was able to customize our cabin to meet our needs and desires, including extra storage space and other special touches to make it just what we wanted. Our cabin has both a screened porch and a large covered deck to maximize our enjoyment of the beautiful mountain scenery and landscaping we are surrounded by. Happy and his wonderful wife Linda are a delight, and every one of our neighbors have made us feel welcomed into the community. Now and then we have people who stop to check out our community. Most drive up as far as the sign that states that this is private property and gives a phone number to call for more information. It's sad to see that a person who chose to disregard the sign and drive all the way up into our community late at night, turn around on a lawn, and get out of their vehicle for who knows what reason last year is still adding negative reviews a year later. We are thankful that the owner is mindful of the safety and security of the residents of our beautiful retirement community.

One year ago, the man who owns this business shot at me. I will readily admit that, yes, we stopped at his business because our friend had to urinate, and we were driving down the highway that it is located on. We should not have stopped there, I will admit… He wants to approach us and see who we are/what we're doing? Fine. He wants to call the cops on us? That's fair too. But to shoot at us, with no warning or questions? To me, that is an unacceptable business practice. He did not approach us first. He did not check to even see if we were residents or family of any residents staying there. He did not ask any questions before firing a gun AT us. Not near us, not into the air... the bullet hit the ground merely a couple yards in front of us. This man did not seem to care if he killed us. He is a public menace who should not own a place of business if this is his reaction in a situation such as that. And guess what, sir? I am not Sean, and neither were most of the previous commenters. I am the 5'1", 105 lb girl that you were SO threatened by, that you felt the need to fire your gun at. I can guarantee that I will never frequent your place of business, and I will warn everyone I know to avoid it too.

My wife and I purchased our cabin at Hideaway Park over 2 years ago, and we couldn't have made a better choice. The superior structural quality of our cozy cabin and the gorgeous views are everything we were searching for. The parks grounds are meticulously maintained by the owner who is always helpful, friendly, and dependable. Our neighbors are warm and freindly yet respectful of our privacy. We feel priviledged to be enjoying the quiet life style in such beautiful, safe, and, thanks to our owner, secure surroundings. Al and Manon

Make sure if you go with Happy's Hideaway, you bring a large white flag, or the proprietor is likely to shoot at you first, then ask questions later. Happy possesses none of the southern hospitality that a resort owner should have. The other night a respectable member of the community pulled over on the side of the road (at the entrance to Happy's Hideaway Resort) for just a minute and he shot at them without warning. Yes, it was unmarked private property, and Happy has his rights as a landowner, but his actions were morally reprehensible. I hope when visiting this beautiful part of the country, you choose something other than Happy's Hideaway Resort, and that you encourage others to do likewise.
