High Focus was like a second home for me. I spent a total of 8 months there over the past year in the adolescence program. You walk into the building and feel this automatic warmth. The staff really cares about how you are doing and fosters a safe environment where it is easy for us to open up. Not only did I get outstanding treatment here but I also made deep connections with the other patients. These connections helped me realize that I was not alone with my struggles. My clinicians always listened and advocated for me in a lot of trying situations. If I was having a problem in school they would contact the school and try to help improve the situation or help me get the accommodations I needed. Some treatment places only seem to care about money or try to rush their patients out. This definitely is not the case at High Focus. The compassion the staff has for the patients shows just how much they truly care for us. Every individual and family session in thorough and i always felt heard and that my feelings were considered. The family sessions helped in building a better relationship with my parents and keep communication open throughout the family. When insurance tried to kick me out prematurely the staff fought the company to make sure that I would not be discharged when I was not ready. Even when my dad lost his job for some time the program helped work with us to help in making the program affordable. Even though I was very sad to leave the program when it was time for me to leave I felt ready. Besides the therapy aspect of the program the medication services are also out of this world. The nurse practitioner sits down with you each week and discusses how the medications are going. Sometimes when talking to a psychiatrist you feel like they are disconnected and are kind of shooting in the dark. But at High Focus the staff really works with you to make sure that the best medication is picked for the specific symptoms. High Focus also offers Genetic Testing so that patients can have a more accurate approach to finding the correct medication. Most of all High Focus has saved my life. If it was not for the amazing staff here I would probably not be sitting head writing this review today. Five stars is most definitely not enough stars to rate how wonderful my experience was here. If you have reached a low point in your life and you help getting out High Focus is the place to go to get you back on track. Thanks High Focus for everything

This place is awful. They are very disorganized, and rude to the adolescents. They don’t help at all, and it feels as if you can’t open up about anything without receiving a negative reaction back from the clinicians. They’re are 2 clinicians that aren’t bad from that place, but the rest are plain awful! I dreaded coming here. Honestly, being in this program raised my depression and anxiety levels. I recommend going somewhere else to get assistance.

Going to high focus really, really helped me and helped put on a path to success. Before I went to the place, I was a MESS. I’m not exaggerating. But after I went here, it really helped me. Even the other patients really cared and were very supportive. There were one or two staff that were kind of rude, but other than that, everyone really cares. This is so much better than other places I have been to where all they cared about was money and didn’t give a rat’s ass about you. With anyone who is really struggling with depression, bipolar, suicidal thoughts, etc., I really recommend going to this place because it will truly help you.

We have had very good experiences with this program and found it to be quite helpful for our child. You can't just drop your kid and run though - you do have to stay involved as a parent and pay attention to what is going on. That means going to the family meetings, talking to the psychiatric nurse practitioner (much better than most psychiatrists I've dealt with), connecting your school with High Focus and following through with what you need to do outside the therapeutic setting. The transportation is somewhat disorganized (don't be shy about calling) and there can be frequent staff changes.

When I first attended this facility I thought it was horrible. I always fought my family members about coming everyday. I came here for multiple reasons...only a couple of these things were fixed. Clinicians in this facility make you feel like they talk down to you. If you do come to this facility ask for James, Lauren, Sean, or Brian. Those are the only ones I trusted enough to speak to.
