Really enjoyed the downtown location. Highland Bakery did an impressive job of bringing the quality of their food and service to this smaller outpost. Despite the size, I really appreciated the space. It was comfortable and open, and the kind of place where you can camp out and work or have an informal work meeting.

The food is good (not amazing, but no complaints). This is a fantastic alternative study spot to Starbucks, which is always crowded. Besides the lunch time rush, the Highland Bakery is usually pretty quiet, and the music is great (90's rock/at). Good cheap coffee too!

Mixed emotions. The service was great, very friendly people. People are constantly working to keep place clean. Patrons look comfortable and relaxed. Coffee was delicious. Views were great. I had the Thai peanut salad with tofu and it was not good. It was this weird warm noodle peanut glob on top of some lettuce. No dressing. It just didn't go well. I'd return for something to give it another try.

Do not order take out! They will cheat you! Crab Cake Benedict is just not the same with out the Holindase! And can't find a hint of a lump of crab.The potatoes were not fully cooked. The reviews were so good, I'm very disappointed. The service was good. I'm pleased to be able to say that.

I don't think the people working here enjoy it very much, and that comes across in their passive aggressiveness. I ordered a mocha within 30 minutes of them closing, and it was like I'd asked a teenager to clean her room. The food feels like it may be premade off-site and warmed here. It's got the feel of an airport restaurant.
