With our company forefathers in mind, we continue to provide service that exceeds the expectations of those we serve, create dignified tributes to lives that have been lived, and pass on to future generations hope and promise for tomorrow.
Highlands Funeral Home is family-owned and operated by local families whose members represent five generations in funeral service. The Owen and Wagner families continue the tradition established in 1959.
Perhaps we have served you or your family in the past. You may meet us for the first time when the death of a loved one occurs. When you meet the Director of your choice, you can be assured you will receive professional and supportive guidance. The personal wishes of your family are our first consideration.

The owners, along with the staff of Funeral Directors & Embalmers, consisting of David Johnson, Wendy O'Rourke, Carla Raiche, Kyle O'Bryan and Casey Johnson (apprentice) work to make your experience the best yet.

David Johnson is the most unprofessional funeral director in the business. He is a professional liability case waiting to happen.  No compassion for the family's loss.  This man should not be dealing with people.  Wendy is all about the profit and the commission the funeral home receives from the florist, monument company, etc rather than the family.  They make you use there people that pays them the most commission rather that the companies that the family wants to use. This use to be a high class funeral home but it has really went downhill in the past few years. The owners are never around.

Great family business to work with.    I have  used their services for each of my parents. Very compassionate and professional from start to finish. The complete staff makes you feel welcome and appreciated.   Mark

well where do u start.chose for the location.we were prepared,but not really prepared.we had life  insurance.we were four of us in the meeting room.the funeral director offered their condolences.then the BIG QUESTION WAS FROM THE FUNERAL DIRECTOR.WE NEED SEVERAL THOUSAND dollars up front.this really happen to us.i am really seriously telling the truth. heard that i was and the other three were about to leave.but regrouped.it is for our relative.everything was to rush,rush rush.business,business,MONEY.WHERE IS THE CONCERN FOR THE CUSTOMER AT HERE. TO ME THIS WAS UNCALLED FOR.UNPROFESSIONAL.THIS IS A FUNERAL HOME NOT A CAR LOT--WHERE  DECISIONS ARE MADE.PEOPLE ARE  FULL OF GRIEF,.SO WE STAYED HAD THE SERVICE AND MOVED-ON.INSURANCE LADY --SHOWED US THE BEST  RESPECT AND INTERACTION THERE.SHE WORKS THERE.MY RELATIVE ENTERED THE OFFICE AREA SOME OF THESE PEOPLE WERE SNICKERING AND LAUGHING SHE SAID.SOME EMPLOYEES WERE.WHATS FUNNY ABOUT THIS. ANYHOW  THE FUNERAL WAS FOR OUR LOVE-ONE.

Highlands Funeral Home handled my mother's funeral and hosted our visitation hours.  The overall experience was very positive and I really found no reason not to give them a five star rating.  This review is written by a real customer and my decision to post this review was not solicited by their management.  Its truly my honest assessment.  Roger Quinn, Prospect, KY
