My daughter's preschool was on Park St, which made it easy to pick up breakfast at Highwire on the walk back after dropping her off. Now that she's in kindergarten I don't have the easy excuse to drop by as often, but still try to make it when I can. Even with coming by much less frequently the staff still remember my name, which I find amazing given how bad I am at names, and the service is always friendly and prompt even when they're busy. I especially like the seasonal drinks, and my daughter loves the apple juice. My go-to is usually one of the seasonal drinks and a bagel and cream cheese or these muffins they have that have an egg inside did I mention I'm bad with names?.
Great spot for a mocha! No real internal seating but there are a few chairs outside.
One of my favorite spots for coffee in the Bay Area! It is not a sit down coffee shop unless you are willing to sit outside, but it is phenomenal. Always enjoy coming here and the staff are amazing too!Food: 5/5
Awesome rich coffee! I love this place..but when I go back on Keto and low carb, unfortunately not as often because they still don't offer heavy cream as an option for Keto & Diabetic folks. I'd be there every single day buying there coffee IF only they'd carry this. I've asked the baristas but each time, nope, still don't have it. : Dietary restrictions: Awesome rich coffee! Highwire Coffee Roasters in Alameda delivers excellent crafted coffee. Whether you have it to stay or to go it’s delicious every time. Cappuccino are immaculate!
This review is ONLY for Alameda. Do not, I repeat, do not order a matcha latte from here. The quality has gone down considerably. The matcha used to be whisked perfectly and when combined with milk, the drink used to be decadent and smooth. The pictures are posted with this review However, the drink I received today was watery, as if the milk was simply heated up and the matcha was dumped in without any whisking. I also tasted TOO MUCH matcha, as if I was drinking a tall, cold glass of grass. Their customer service has also lacked. They take no phone calls and when I called to inform them their online ordering system did not work and asked when it would be fixed, two people said “Oh, we know it’s down, we don’t know what to do about it”. I’ll continue supporting Coffee and Tea Traders with better customer service and certainly, A MORE DELICIOUS MATCHA LATTE.

When Highwire arrived in Alameda, great coffee was hard to come by. Highwire really takes coffee making to an art, but in a timely and efficient manner. One star loss mainly due to parking. If you're driving and looking to grab a cup on your way out of town, then give yourself +5 - 10 minutes to find parking. Sometimes the Parking gods will be on your side and you'll find a spot on Park street right out front of the shop. Otherwise, take a cruise down San Jose Ave, San Antonio Ave. or parallel Oak street to find parking. They also offer dog treats for your pup as well as a 'doggie parking' area where you can tie your dog up right out front before entering the very small store front. Keep in mind this is a grab and go spot, or sit out front and enjoy your coffee while people watching. This is not a place to bring a laptop and work from for multiple hours as they don't offer wifi. All in all, Highwire is one of our favorite spots, one we visit weekly!
Best coffee I've had in a long while. Pastries are excellent too, and you can opt to enjoy them at one of the tables out front--coffee tastes better when it's not in a paper cup.
