Meats are ordered by the 1/2 pound, and after you're seated, you're given a card which is used by staff when you order your meats at a counter. At the counter they're weighed with an option for bread. After ordering meats, there's a separate counter for side dishes such as Mac and cheese or potatoe salad. You bring the card back to your table with your food so that staff can charge you after you've finished your meal. Friendly staff but the food wasn't what I expected it to be. I tried the moist brisket, mac and cheese, and pork ribs. The pork ribs can be a little pink and hard, and the meat doesn't easily come off the bones. The brisket and mac and cheese did have good flavor, but I've had better. Considering the prices you're paying, you'd be better going elsewhere.

There's a reason for the long (but fast moving) lines - the barbecue here is delicious. There are a good number of choices, both of types of meat and sides. We ordered a bunch of them and enjoyed them all. And we happily had plenty to bring home for another full meal. Great for groups, it's lively, loud and relaxed.

I'd give the meat 3 stars, the sides 2 stars, and the people working there 4 stars. Servers were very friendly and were quick to start up a conversation. The meat was average, although slightly salty and some was over-cooked. The sides were cold and unimpressive. Native New Yorkers seem to like it though.

The food is Amazing! I fell in love with the Brisket (moist) and the Burnt ends (lean brisket) I think those are must have a on every trip. The ribs are smokey and oh so flavorful. ..great with or without sauce...the sides were OK... with the corn pudding and the macaroni and cheese as standouts. The service was impeccable... attentive, pleasant and warm wait staff and managers. They gave great reccomondations and made the time that more enjoyable!

Probably my favorite BBQ joint in the city right now because of the combination of quality, value, and convenience of the location for me. You can get better BBQ at the hipster joints in Brooklyn, but I'm not going to take an hour long trip to Red Hook for some slightly better ribs. Love the brisket and the sides, but not a huge fan of the ribs or sausage. Haven't tried all the varieties of either yet though, so there's probably one I'd like. I usually get take out for lunch or dinner, but it's got a great atmosphere and live music.
