Great onion rings. The chicken fried steak was good with a huge portion.  The breading was excellent and the meat was tender, but it could have been spiced better.  I felt it needed more salt and pepper. Quaint and quirky environment.

First time, and never again-I heard this place was good, but it wasn't. 
Service was not great - the hostess must have had better things to do as her attitude was definitely not in customer service mode- when she sat us down and asked for a drink order, we had to look at the menu, and she didn't have time for that so she rudely said she would come back later.
She didn't come back, but eventually, our waitress did, and she was pretty nice.
My family ordered the chicken fried steak, the "award winning" country fried pork chops, and the country fried chicken, the swiss portabello chopped steak, and grilled cheese.
The award should go to the grilled cheese. Grilled cheese was definitely the best entrée. Though the batter on the fried dishes was tasty, the food was served cold, and pork, steak, and chicken were all tough to chew, and the chopped steak was pathetically topped with one measly slice of sandwich cheese cut diagonally.
The better of the sides was mashed potatoes. They seem to be made of fresh potatoes, but considering the green beans are clearly from a can, and the crinkle cut french fries tasted like freezer burn... maybe they're not fresh? 
In other words, either get grilled cheese and mashed potatoes, or just go to Diary Queen where the gravy is always on point.

They really do have a great chicken fried steak. The service was slow but the food was delicious. Great atmosphere, very "Johnson City" Also the have a good selection of local brews and wines with the biggest strawberry mimosa I have ever been served, Texas sized.

Wouldn't say it is the worlds best maybe worlds thinnest chicken fried steak with maybe 4oz of meat covered in 12oz of breading. Highly disappointed however not completely since breading is filling. Tea was good so there is a positive

Food Is AMAZING!!!! Staff is friendly and personable, you come in here more then twice they will remember you.  

Our Waitress Jessica was superbly stupendous and Awesome.
