I have been a patient of Dr. Ruben Valdes for several years and am shocked at the reviews that have been posted. Shelby, who takes care of the front office is AMAZING!!! She has always gone over the top with anything needed from her. I have always received personal attention, they know me by name, and I would rather my medical providers care about ME than furnishing their office with the latest expensive furniture they can find. You should definitely go to this office if you want a staff that cares about you rather than your co-payment.

Dr Jacob has really turned this place around. It's clean, remodeled., and the staff is great. She is a really sharp Dr., give this place another try, you won't be disappointed. I just went today and I was truly surprised.

This place has become a nightmare. The only thing comforting about this place is the lady that works at the front desk. I hate calling her "the lady" I believe her name is Shelby, she's awesome and one of the only reasons I thought about staying. I was a patient of Hillsborough Medicial for over 10 years. Seeing Urso, Jacob, Wilson & Jacob again. The compassion that doctor Nirmala Rose Jacob shows for her patients is less then the compassion Hitler showed during WW2.... seriously, you could write a college paper comparing the two. Since Doctor Jacobs has returned the other doctors have left and it looks like most of the  patients have as well. From down talking previous doctors to criticizing the Medicine that has been perscribed by her office, doctor Jacob's does an amazing job at...welll.... not much of anything. She's a horrible doctor. Doesn't review patient files before entering the room and vomiting at the mouth. Don't expect her to know what medicine she perscribes you, she can't read the text on her laptop or her own writing. Needless to say if your going to see the doctor go somewhere else. The public library down the street may have more usefull information than Dr.Jacob's does. Also be weary of her catch phrase when she is confused. "Nice to meet you." -If you hear that, know that you are screwed.

Do you like waiting for extended periods of time because your time is not valuable? This is your place.
Do  you not worry if you are getting the medications you need? This is  your place.
Do you like your appointments being cancelled and being unable to get in for another week? Yep, you guessed it! This is your place 
Do not blame the office staff. Those folks will do all they can to help but they are only empowered so much. 
I am finding a new place where I and my medical issues matter. I have been with the practice a little over a year and NEVER have I  been seen on time and once spent 4 hours with my daughter to be seen.

I guess I have to give this dump at least a 1 star in order to review. My appointment was scheduled for May 31st at 9:15. Another elderly lady was scheduled at 9:00 am before me. We both arrived around 8:40 am to find a note on the door that they wouldn't be opening until 9:00. By 9:25am some woman came strolling up...I asked if she as running late and she said nope. Then strolled on in.

The chairs are all stained...there are filthy mattresses lying in the parking lot; the building is covered in mold and the side door was unlocked. I opened several times and hollered in but no one was there. I took pictures and video to document this dump. The fact that I or anyone could walk right in and access their patients' medical records is a MAJOR HIPPA violation.

The only reason I stuck around is because I waited 2 weeks to get this appointment and this doctor was the only one close by who took my insurance.
Terrible experience. Do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs.

If this was a restaurant, the health dept would have shut it down long ago. How it manages to stay open as a place to heal the sick is beyond my comprehension.

And while sitting here....they just told everyone in the lobby that the doctor wouldn't be seeing anyone today due to no nurse being on staff.
