Great school district- academically and professionally.  I had a rough time getting help from the Clinton Public School District for my son, who has ADHD and prefers not to take meds due to side effects, through his 5th grade year.  I discovered the well-guarded secret of the 504 Accommodations while in GA, which Jaden was eligible for due to the ADHD and the plan (tailored to J) was grudgingly implemented at his school there.  

We moved back to MS into Byram and the Byram Middle School administrators were quick to put the accommodations in place immediately and reviewed within a month or so to assess the efficacy of the plan to date.

I used to be worried about whether my child was going to the highest scoring school district- which Clinton is one for the Jackson area.  The truth is that it is futile if the faculty and/or staff is unable to recognize that all kids learn differently and are unable to accommodate your child.  Clinton is an awesome school but only if your child is on top of his/her grades at all times or is failing miserably.  I feel for any kid that is in between the two.  

I lived through and learned from Jaden's experience in these different schools.  Go with Byram if you have "just a regular kid" because they won't get the same quality education as their peers in Clinton.  My daughter started Kindergarten at Gary Road Elementary yesterday and I do not feel that anxiety I used to have about how successful she will be with the faculty there.  That is a 5 star relief.
