This is a hidden gem! The house is beautiful and the architecture is amazing. It's definitely very well-maintained too. Just from driving down the street you would never know this house is hidden back behind all the trees. The property has great trails too. I have to come back when it's open and take a tour of the inside!
Beautiful grounds, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Nice trails rain or shine!Visited onWeekend

My Parents were caretakers when I was a kid. Piece of American history and a large part of my childhood. I'll never forget it.
My 3 grandsons, ages 3, almost 5, and almost 7, enjoyed the trains. We also let them run outside. I wish there was a snack place for hot chocolate. All the personnel were pleasant and proud of the train sets.
Loved the train display and the Santa display.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
A treasure that was saved from the wrecking ball in the mid 1970’s. Property is wonderfully cared for and a pleasure to tour. Suggested donation is only $5.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$1–5
Beautiful historic home and grounds. The grounds are a municipal park and worth a walk. Do your best to visit during open hours so that you get a docent-led tour. In the weeks leading up to Christmas the house is filled with seasonal decorations. Don’t miss the Santa room. Your head will spin if you attempt to count them all.
Really nice place to visit. The grounds are pet friendly and trails are well kept. Plan on visiting this weekend to see Xmas decoration and train display. We managed to get to the Xmas display this weekend. What a surprise. The barn had the train display which was great. All kind of trains ran on different platforms with Xmas houses every where. Such a fantasy world. It made me feel like a child again. Then we visited the mansion. What surprise. The original part of the house was started around 1700 with additions incorporated down through the years. The house is beautiflly decorated in Victorian Xmas theme. But the best room was the Santa Claus room. Everyone would enter and say, "WOW. The room isn't a large room which makes the impact of seeing so many Santa's even more impactful. There were literally thousands of Santa's everywhere. On Xmas trees, the mantle piece, the floor, table, etc. The collector said he has been collecting for over 40 years and this was only part of his collection. The estate is a must see at Xmas time but runs on limited time table on the weekends.
