Absolutely charming. It's like stepping back to a time we wish we all had more of. The family that owns the Historic Western Hotel is wonderful and has struck the perfect balance of hospitality and authenticity. Highly recommend drinks and dinner in their saloon.

I have stayed here a few times and it is definitely original. I think that even some of the light bulbs are from the 1800's! It needs some upgrades for those who cannot bear being away from their electronics but hey it's that old west nostalgia you seek anyway right? And if you are a creature of comfort it may not be up your alley and for some reason every time I've stayed here there was nobody else in any of the other rooms. Not that could be seen anyway. It is really a feeling like you have gone back in time. I have had some strange experiences when staying there such as footsteps, cold spots, lights flickering and just a general feeling of not being alone. It's a great experience staying here if you can look past the few modern things it's lacking.

Beautiful little old hotel. Friendly staff. Took the associated Jeep tour (San Juan Jeep Tour) and loved it! Didn't stay overnight so I can't speak for the rooms. Just be aware it is authentically old.

Unfortunately only 3 stars. Great location. I'm sure its haunted. Bones can't take the steep stairs. Just needs a lot of work buy total old school hotel.

Old hotel but not that great of a place to stay. One outlet plug in the 2 person room. Community bathrooms & showers. Not too bad for the price though.
