This hospital charges super high facility fee. One Saturday, I went to hoag urgent care on Sand Canyon for a sore arm. I received an ultrasound to check my arm and turn out to be normal. The physician suggested me to visit my family doctor. I left the urgent care still with my sore armsand discomfort unsolved. Later Three bills generated. One bill is $166 for physician fee, one bill is $1000 for hospital fee , and third bill for the ultrasound service is on the way. This is an urgent care, not emergency room, they charge patient for about $1000 hospital fee. This is ridiculous, this is not even a service. And they didn't make these greedy charge transparent to public. I believe that I am not the only one to feel that health care providers today like hoag hospital has become far more greedy than being reasonable. I will switch provider definitely, cannot afford to it. Patients who go to these places please remember, the higher they charge your insurance company, the higher we will pay the insurance premium and all the medical expenses in average.

Radiology department and Lab are what we have used and they were both very professional, caring and efficient.

I am 70 years old and have been in many emergency rooms in my life. This one treated me horribly. First of all I came in because I was urinating every five minutes for over an hour this morning and I had pain in my back where my kidneys were. I had to call someone for another reason this morning and she said the same thing happened to her mother and they let it go too long and it caused all kinds of complications When I was discharged they indicated on my paperwork they treated me for fatigue and weakness. Hello that was not even close. It is no wonder this morning I got up with the same issue And it wasn't in in til I was almost discharged the first time that they noticed my blood pressure was 200/100. It was only because the nurse was paying attention. The doctor was dismissive and treated me like a child. I am from a medical family and can tell a bad doctor when I see one. He shouldn't have a medical license. He has an awful bedside manner. Even the guy who wheeled me out had a bad attitude and he was studying to be a nurse! I know we have a nursing shortage but we shouldn't let every non empathetic person become one My son has less than a 30 second encounter with this person and he said 'who is that guy he really is someone with a bad attitude I have never been in an emergency room where they didn't have a call button for the nurse ( I had to go to the bathroom several times and the only way to get someone was to yell ). I wasn't offered at so much as a glass of water. I will just go back to Hoag in Newport Beach in the future even if the time frame means the difference between life and death. Because if it was a life-and-death issue this would not be a good place to go! The one thing then I'm absolutely sure of was that they needed my bed. They were trying to get me out of there because I wasn't as important as the next person apparently and they did get me out of there without solving my problem. And I'll bet I heard "I know you need my bed" andat least 20 times while I was there and probably more

I arrived at the Hospital to visit a friend. No one was at the front desk and a note said to pick up the phone. The person who answered told me that the person I came to visit had been discharged. After I got home, I called another friend who said they had just visited the patient and she would be there several days. I called the Hospital and after playing phone tag and getting hung up on once, I was told the patient was indeed there. When I reported being told she was discharged, all I got was a laugh and a reply of "Oh really". This goes beyond poor customer service.
