This is my favorite bar in Tulsa. The drinks are excellent!  If you like sour I strongly recommend the Tuareg. The food is great. The service is good. The interior design is dark wood and tin ceilings, the perfect combination of new and old. I love sitting on the patio in all weather except rain.

My party of 4 went to Hodges Bend because, according to a close friend, the drinks looked and tasted great and it had a wonderful atmosphere.  We decided to bring along a camera to snap some pictures and went early in the day to not disrupt the evening crowd.  Little did we know that photography is only allowed during the week between certain hours and it costs $25.  I don't have a problem with the establishment's rules.  I understand you probably have people wanting to take pictures in there all the time and they have no intention on spending a cent.  However, we had ordered drinks before we even produced the camera.  We would've gladly stayed and ordered more that would've amounted to double your $25 fee.

What I do have a problem with is how we were handled when that information was given to us.  The male bartender wasn't exactly friendly about it.  Not a "please" or "thank you for your compliance" was to be heard.  Instead we received "we're trying to run a bar here" like we were disturbing the entirety of the half empty bar with our single Canon camera.  After that, our party of four became personae non gratae.  No one checked on us for the remainder of our short time there.  Even when the couple we were with got up and left, no one came by to see if we simply wanted the check.  It did eventually come by the hands of another male bartender that had not interacted with us yet.  This was a first impression for all members of my party and I can confidently say that we will not be returning.

Whether you're looking for coffee or cocktails, this place elevates them to new levels. House made syrups, fresh squeezed juices, and high end ingredients all combine to make exceptional drinks served up by a knowledgeable and friendly staff. Tin ceilings, glass bottle chandeliers, rich woods, marble bar top, and a turntable spinning classic vinyl all make for an elegant chic vibe that you'll enjoy relaxing in.

Amazing cocktail menu, very few food choices though. Friendly staff, cozy old-fashioned feel. Great place to meet for drinks!

I try to visit a place multiple times before submitting a review. I have been here four times...
The first two visits were nice. I had a female bartender who was polite, courteous and prompt. The next couple visits, not so good. 
The male bartender could not be bothered for a simple glass of beer. He also decided to physically slide my glass of espresso and water out of his way so he could hand chisel ice in front of my face on top of the bar... with his dirty hands. That was not pleasant. 

The next visit I took my date in and we sat at a booth. After getting our first cocktail I decided to take a picture of us together and was almost immediately told by the bartender that photography was not allowed. I can understand it is their right to deny customers the ability to do so in their establishment but... I had a point and shoot Sony which is smaller than my iPhone 7 and fits in my pocket. C'mon! I wasn't their with a 5,000 dollar camera and lighting gear. So that completely ruined the mood of my date. Thanks for that. 

I don't think I will be back for some time and I won't recommend this place to friends or family.
