We had an exceptional experience with Holy Cross Funeral Home, specifically with Nick Albanese. Nick went above and beyond, demonstrating incredible support and empathy during a difficult time. He took the time to understand our needs and was there for us throughout the entire process. The staff, including Father Ray, was compassionate and provided a moving service. The facility itself was clean, spacious, and welcoming. I highly recommend Holy Cross for their outstanding service and caring team. It made a challenging experience more manageable.
On March 27, 2024, we had enlisted the services of Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home for a visitation, funeral mass and interment. As it was an emotionally sensitive time, we were always aware of the potential for mishaps. When we first contacted Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, we were told what to expect at first point of contact. This was extremely helpful in organizing our day around our first appointment. We were immediately set at ease after our first meeting with our funeral director, Matthew Benjamin, as he carefully and meticulously laid out what we needed and the time expectations involved. His patience, as he repeated anything we had missed, and pleasant personality, became apparent as he continued to interact with us. Matthew’s even temperament was invaluable throughout the funeral, from the visitation to the interment. He, along with two other staff, were always professional, caring and responsive in our interactions. Mathew’s flexibility with our visitation, and clear communication of alternatives was both helpful and emotionally calming. And, even though he was losing his voice, his instructions and dissemination of information was always clearly audible and informative. Right to the end of our last appointment at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, Matthew was a large part of our experience there. It is obvious he likes people, and it comes across plainly in his interactions with us. His seventeen years of experience shines through, providing steady guidance when we were unsure of protocols. Attention to the details, from which flowers needed to stay with us, to simply helping Father to navigate the unstable area around the freshly dug grave, clearly made the service run smoothly. Funerals are a difficult time in our lives and it’s not easy for the families and the people that help them. Mathew obviously wants to help people and he enjoys the achievement of accomplishing this. Mathew has done so successfully, with us, and we are grateful for his assistance.
We recently lost our mother and having just attended a funeral service at Holy Cross Funeral Home for a friend’s parent, we felt our mother and family would be in good hands with them. We initially dealt with Alice Ann who was extremely helpful and took the time to carefully and clearly explain all aspects of the process. Our funeral director, Chris, very patiently and kindly walked us through all of the arrangements. He reassured us along the way and supported us as we grieved. Chris was always helpful and provided gentle direction as we made decisions for our mother. Chris was very responsive to our many inquiries by phone and email. When Chris was not available, other staff members stepped in to help. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We felt taken care of at all times which meant very much to us all. We opted to have our visitation, mass and reception at the Holy Cross Funeral home. The staff set up our mother’s visitation room beautifully and the environment was warm and homey. We had very comfortable seating options in the visitation room and we were offered options for how we wanted the room to be set up. On the day of the service, Paul met us at the door and escorted us to our mother’s room. He kindly explained what to expect throughout the day and helped us manage the time between the visitation and the service. Luigi, the musician and cantor communicated with us about the music and accommodated a couple our of music requests which we really appreciated as they were our mother’s favourite hymns. He sang and played beautifully and many attendees noted how lovely the music was. The staff at the reception were efficient and had the food set up nicely. They assisted us with packing up all of the leftovers and other items and provided carts to take everything to our cars. The entire experience from beginning to end was seamless and all of our guests commented on how impressed they were with the Holy Cross staff, environment and services. Thank you to Holy Cross Funeral Home for looking after our mother and our family with such care and compassion.
I recently visited the funeral home and cemetery to pay my respects to some family members who are in the wall. Although the staff was very professional and helpful, I did face some difficulty in finding the exact location of my loved ones. As I only had the exact number they were in, I had to walk around the mausoleum to locate them. However, it would have been helpful if there were some signs at the top indicating the row or column number, as it would have made the search easier and less time-consuming. Despite this minor criticism, overall, I was impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the upkeep of the cemetery.
My Cousin from the Philippines who made a life for himself here to support his family back home was treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Paul and his team helped out considerably in all areas needed, all was covered and nothing was not left out. After spending over 50 years of dealing with Holy Cross Funeral Services you cannot get any better with Service and Respect in your time of need and we invite you to use there Services for your family.
Losing a loved one is never easy, but Holy Cross, especially Nicole and her colleagues made the whole process and experience very easy for us. They thought of everything, because during a difficult time, it’s quite hard to think of questions to ask, but they had everything covered from start to finish. They were all very respectful, gentle, friendly, and thoughtful. Their facilities are also beautiful, clean, bright - they have everything you can think of, especially if your family/loved one is Catholic. Ultimately, they made our experience very easy and seamless. Thank you, Nicole, and to all your colleagues for all your help and support.
We are very grateful for the exceptional service, advice and support that Pina Ferrari provided to our family during the recent loss of our mother. Her presence will not be forgotten. Thank you kindly and God bless.
The funeral service was well organized, the staff are very nice and approachable. We like it that everything is in one roof including the chapel. Lots of space for parking and the ambiance is very solemn . Overall we are very happy and satisfied with the service and I will definitely recommend to all my friends and family.
Losing a loved one is always a difficult process but my brother and I felt very supported by Holy Cross Funeral Home, which is also very beautiful. From our initial call to the home, when Chris assisted us, to our meeting with Tony who led us through the process, clearly explaining costs and answering all our questions, to Lucia who was there on the day of the funeral, we have only positive feedback for these funeral directors and all other staff we encountered. We chose to have the funeral mass in your chapel, where the services of the Priest, who took the time to learn about our mom, and include it in the homily, the very talented singer and organist, and your staff, resulted in a beautiful personal funeral mass. As it was live-streamed, family and friends, especially those overseas really appreciated participating virtually. I also really appreciated the digital tribute which was done remarkably well. Not only was it being played during the visitation, but I received a copy set to beautiful songs, that is a forever tribute to my mom and can be shared with others. All who attended the visitation and /or Funeral Mass had only positive words to say. Our sincere thanks to all at Holy Cross Cemetery who guided us through this difficult time.
The Panis Family and Patricia's brothers and sisters are so grateful to all the staff at Holy Cross. The grieving family did not have to worry about anything. The staff were very courteous and very helpful and everything ran smoothly. It was a solemn yet beautiful service. And not to forget the food as well as the staff were excellent. Thank you in particular to Nicole who was very accomodating and explained everything and promptly responded to our questions. Again thank you to everyone at Holy Cross.
