We went to Hombre y Lobo for happy hour to check it out. It is a bright, trendy space. The service staff was pleasant and accommodating. It is not a very sizeable space, however you can make reservations online for the bar, one of the small four person tables, or the to shared community table. There is seasonal, covered outdoor space and a "lounge" as well comprising itself of a couple small couches. We only had appetizers and they were good. The beer selection was appropriate for the restaurants theme, with a heavier selection of beers that would pairs nicely with their food options. Many other liquid refreshments too, including some specialty drinks. Parking isn't ideal, as there are limited on street parking spaces. there are pay surface lots as well. On nights with events at the stadium it will see increased traffic. Give Hombre y Lobo a try!
Love it here. I'd come every day just for the vibes if I could! Staff is so friendly and efficient. Everyone works well together... very welcoming environment for all. Even the plants bring me joy haha. I've only eaten here 1 time and food was flavorful, fresh and fast. The drinks are top tier always!Food: 4/5
An extremely charming and friendly place. Modern music vibe and youthful atmosphere. The service was fast and everyone was very friendly. The interior design is cheerful and joyful. We ordered a spicy margarita, which was phenomenal, for an appetizer, guacamole sauce with chips which is great, different from the ready-made ones that are served in other Mexican restaurants, for the main course, quesadillas with jalapeño sauce and everything is so tasty. I also like the environmental awareness, the take-out boxes are made of cardboard, the water is in glass bottles and is drunk from stainless steel glasses, unlike many restaurants that serve in plastic glasses. Тhey also give children juice in a glass cup, not a plastic one like in almost all restaurants. And juice is squeezed. Will definitely come here next time, specially on some event! :
Only thing edible was chips and queso. Tacos had almost no flavor of three meat choices, corn tortilla was "heated" up but by the time we got them, they were cold. They don't offer Mexican coke. As an avid taco eater all over the world, I'm not sure what this was supposed to be but not tacos. Parking: Limited parking with very hard to find parking on game days
I love this place and will definitely be back. Spoke with one of the owners Isaac , he is so kind and provided top notch customer service ! It’s always a gem to find a spot where the owners put a lot of love into it and it definitely reflects in the food and atmosphere . Decor is fun and tasteful , and the food is fresh high quality and full of flavor .
Such a fun time at a great new spot downtown. It was my first time coming here and I already can’t wait to come back. Upon entering I couldn't help but notice that the space was bright, happy, colorful and cozy. They made great use of a smaller space. It reminded me of a chic NYC layout. If you come during dinner rush you might have to wait for a seat. It shouldn't be too long, this is a fast casual ish kind of spot with the perks of a really cute bar. The staff was very helpful and attentive. They made sure to clean up the dining room so new guests could be seated quickly. Now for the food, I went with a friend and we loved the menu. It was a mix of traditional Latin ingredients and dishes and also some Buffalo/ American ingredients prepared in Mexican style dishes. Def a neat way to present the food and a great way to make sure there was something for everyone. We both ordered the house margarita with Loganberry. Wow, this was awesome. Not too sweet, just enough loganberry to cut the acid of the lime, add some flavor and beautiful color. We had the chips and salsa, which was wonderful. The chips were freshly fried and crisp, the perfect amount of salt. We chose the pico salsa, fresh and bright, and the tomatillo, just enough spice to make it interesting. For my taco I had the carnitas, very nice portion, juicy and great flavor. I was still hungry so I ordered the birria ramen, wonderful, savory and complex flavor with the right amount of spice. I loved the play on the traditional birria in a bowl of ramen. The only thing I'll say is that the taco and birria were quite salty. The flavors were on point but less salt would have made them perfect. I'm sure things are being worked out in the kitchen since they are new and this won't deter me from coming back again soon. So many other great menu items I'd like to try like the chorizo, Chivetta chicken and mushroom tacos. Pro tip: Every Tuesday is taco Tuesday, $1 off tacos!
Would not recommend for street taco enthusiasts. Food is ok, but the meat could use more seasoning and kept hot. My tacos were cold by the time I got it. Nice staff. Atmosphere is colorful, beautiful, vibrant, noisy and felt small. Parking: Parking: Street = Free, Lot = $5 OR $10 depending on what the signs say that day. CASH ONLY for the lots right next to the establishment.
Came in during Wednesday trivia night! Delicious Plantains and tofu tacos! Great and friendly service!!!Food: 5/5
I'll live to regret giving a great review for Hombre y Lobo because I'll never get a seat again! But they are a new restaurant bar and the food was delicious and the drinks were great. Definitely a much-needed venue in the neighborhood and with authentic Mexican food. I highly recommend that you get some delicious takeout so I can still get a seat. Ok? Thanks!
What a really nice spot to get your Taco fix. Tuesdays is designated as Taco Tuesdays, so you get $1 off all tacos. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so it can get a quite crowded pretty fast. Also the parking can be challenging during these busy times. If your going to come here during Taco Tuesdays or the weekend. I strongly advise you to car pool or catch an Uber. Quesadilla chicken - Very good.. I loved how the cheese was just the right amount, and the shell was nice and crispy. Just a heads up, there is a $2 up charge for the chicken Tacos fish- I am normally not into spicy foods. But this taco had just the right amount of heat. The taco was so good I should've ordered 5 more. Margarita loganberry- the drinks are on point.. If your into margaritas, you will be completely satisfied. The loganberry margarita has a $1 up charge.
