I scheduled an appointment for 12:30pm 8/20/17. I arrived at location at 12:15 to a locked door, and no answers despite my persistent knocking. I called over a dozen times. The person finally emerged from the back after 30minutes (now 12:45). He said that "I arrived at 12:00, which the appointment was made for, and waited for 20 minutes and did not see you". This is a blatant lie, because if he truly waited for 20 minutes, (12:00-12:20) he would have been met by me at 12:15. He began to explain that he could not see our dog today because he had an appointment at 1:00pm, but who knows, that appointment could be at 1:30..... overall, horrible experience and likely will not be returning. When dealing with live animals and people's pets, it is imperative that communication be accurate, honest and concise. Home away was none of these things, they were inaccurate, dishonest and unorganized. This is an accurate account of details. Thank you.

The only reason I am giving 5 stars is because there aren't more. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, courteous and ever so accommodating. My puppy has special needs as she is a service dog, and they take the best care of her. Here is the best rec I can give - moved from Monterey to Modesto and I drive the 150 miles to continue our grooming care at Home Away From Home, where my puppy is safe and comfortable and treated like a princess.

Joel and company run a first class operation at Monterey Pet Spa. While I waited to speak with him (he was helping another customer), I was just observing the store. For one, everything was very clean, and there was no pet odor I noticed. Next, the way the animals were treated was very purposeful and pleasant. I truly believe they care about every pet that comes through the door. I think it is great to have individuals like Joel in the Monterey community. Keep up the great work!

Always a great experience! My dog goes twice a week and loves it, he comes home all pooped out and just sleeps for the reat of the day/night.

I emailed late on a Saturday night for a Sunday morning drop off for my dog. I was pleasantly surprised when I got a response Saturday evening and booked for the next morning. Allison took us in and was really professional. I dropped my dog to go tour Monterey. I am traveling cross country and this business made it possible for me and my family to have a great Fathers Day. Thank you Allison and Home Away from Home dog care.
