This place did a complete 180 with my experience. Originally, my psychiatrist suggested a piece of medical equipment to me—saying he would put in a referral to insurance, which he did. Even though I did not personally solicit Home a Health United's business, they called me and told me that they had the equipment ready for me. They quoted me on a a price—which I paid in full—and in turn they sold me the equipment. After over 6 months of prescribed use, Home Health United sent me a bill nearly four times what I initially paid. When I called their billing department seeking an explanation, they explained that: although they had initially billed my insurance the remainder of the equipment's cost, and my insurance company had initially agreed to pay that requested amount (contingent on Home Health United submitting additional documentation, which they claim to have done), ultimately the insurance company denied the claim. Now, after almost a year, Home Health United is trying to extort me out of more money, claiming that I'm liable for a bum agreement they made with the insurance company that fell through. I would've never purchased the equivalent from them had I known that the cost would be $220 instead of $40; my family already owns one piece of this equipment, this redundant piece was for me to use at the office. There's no other industry in which it would be appropriate to up-charge a customer 500% several months after the initial transaction was completed between the two parties (regardless of what third-party negotiations might have been going on, especially when unbeknownst to The uninvolved party). When I called Home Health United, both their entry level call center agent and that agent's direct superior were abrasive and unwilling to help—simply suggesting I try to hash it out with the insurance company (whom I'm no longer covered under), before abruptly hanging up on me. The equipment they sold me was fine, worked well and as intended. Their service, however, paired exploitative business practice, left the worse possible impression. I would caution you before purchasing any equipment or services through their business.
