My first 2 star review it is very disappointing to make a review like this. As a consumer who is looking outside in about the logistics and priorities. I am patient on waiting for tables but we asked to seat on the inside when there was at least 5 tables inside available because others want outside seating due to good weather. It took 35 minutes to be seated at one of the tables until that previous guests left. In another world, could’ve sat us at an already open table. The serving was not up-to-par as he took our order not really welcoming/helpful then never saw him again after that. I also had to go to the register to pay my tab out cause we wanted to leave soon as possible. One word to describe the food, basic, I expected more from this as the food pictures looks good. My chicken sandwich was more of a spring arugula salad sandwich w/ a hint of chicken and then fries was fries. She order the granola thinking it was a main dish that could end someone’s hunger but it was more a dissatisfying side dish at most. Only great thing was the beer I had. I feel bad writing this but hope there will be improvement if we do comeback.
There was one sandwich that I wish could have been modified with gluten free bread but I get that it just didn’t work with the supplies they had. The burger was delicious and my friend loved the handover egg sandwich. Fries were awesome! I went during the heat wave and by midday, I wish they would pump up the AC but it was an otherwise lovely brunch! Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free buns available so some of the sandwiches can be modified for celiacs and gluten sensitive folks. I have celiac disease and I appreciate that my server asked so she could tell the kitchen to be extra careful. Thank you!
Had a DELICIOUS brunch here — everything was excellent. I would highly recommend the Hangover Egg Sandwich with an order of fries to share the dips were great. There were other sandwiches I was also considering so would love to come back to try more!Food: 5/5
I really love mac and cheese and burgers and this place has all of them! I was really hungry so I was walking around and I saw a mac and cheese in the menu. So, I decided eat my lunch here. I will love to come back again!!Food: 5/5
The food was great but the black coffee wasn’t great. It had that oily residue that comes when you haven’t properly cleaned the coffee machine in the long time. We had a delicious brunch with all sorts of yummy dishes, so I definitely suggest getting breakfast. Service was…leisurely. Garden is really beautiful and nothing but vibes, but it’s not wheelchair accessible because there is a step down. It’s a really unnecessary step that could be easily fixed with a ramp. If they install a ramp in the back and clean the coffee pot, it’s 5 stars.
Really great down to earth meals. We got the kale Cesar, the grilled chicken sandwich, and the hash browns.Food: 5/5
The girls who work here are super-friendly and on-point professionals. Love the mix matched tables. I like their sammich that tastes like artichoke dip.Food: 5/5
If you’re reading this review and wondering if Homespun Foods is worth a try, drop everything you’re doing and RUN HERE! Drove almost two hours to visit for Sunday brunch and it was an experience to be remembered. There wasn’t much of a wait when we arrived around 11, just a few minutes. The atmosphere was casual, cool and inviting; busy but not chaotic. The staff were kind and service was great. As for the food: phenomenal!! The menu isn’t massive, but this clearly gives the kitchen time to perfect each plate they serve. My sincerest compliments to the chefs, who prepared the most decadent dutch baby pancake I’ve ever tasted. My partner’s apple & cheddar salad was also wonderful—every bite had a pleasantly balanced flavor. Not to mention, their mimosas were the perfect compliment to our meal! I will gladly make another trip to Beacon soon, if only to experience Homespun Foods again.
I have been coming here for years. I always thought it was a nice place to stop and get a decent lunch. No more. Under new management the food quality has fallen off a cliff. I stopped and had a BLT two days ago. I have been eating BLTs for over 40 years and have never been served one this awful before. It was inedible. The tomatoes, 2 skimpy slices, were totally unripe and this is in late August, prime season. The bacon was dry and cold. The lettuce was brown and wilted. The bread was stale and way too thick. This for $16. My wife’s salad was only marginally better but was at least edible. I’m really sorry to have to post this report but it was so bad I feel people should be warned. Vegetarian options: The food is awful Kid-friendliness: They have hot dogs for the kiddies. No doubt the best thing on the menu.
I wanted to still love it.. but sadly didn’t like it.. I know it changed hands but why did you change it so much? Previously I’d never had a disappointing meal, it was always bustling with lines off people, displays of baked goods, sodas and other offerings.. the window seat is even gone.. You’re nice people, I hope things improve for you as well as your customers
