I gave it one star because of the quality of the food, I always loved honest Pav bhaji because of its consistent taste, no matter which restaurant you try. This time I had a bad experience as their Bhaji has some stinging taste and seems Heeng was way too much, although we had the dominant taste we had, we also wanted to have Daal Bati but then didn't order after tasting their Pav Bhaji. Next, my friend and I both had bad stomachs, it was definitely some spice which was out in a higher proportion than it should.
I tried the vegetarian Hyderabadi biryani for $17, and I was quite disappointed. The quantity was very small limited rice portion, and the dish has mostly cauliflower with very few other ingredients3 pieces of carrot and some onions on top. For the price I expected a more balanced and flavourful meal it says Hyderabadi biryani but Unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations.
Don’t order the paneer tikka pizza. I expected it to look like a pizza but instead I got this mess. The crust is hard and dry. There were whole spices elachi that I was biting into. Disappointed.Food: 1/5
After trying Honest in NYC , we gave a try at our local north Brunswick location . We ordered , Pav Bajji , Aloo tokri chaat, cheese naan, mint pannier tika . All food tasted good . Interestingly , in pav bajji we found many pieces of onion and capsicum vs bajji typically mashed . Not sure if everyone will enjoy the pieces in the bajji . Customer service was good and fast response . Overall good experience and good place to try street style Indian food .
This is one of the best place to get delicious fast food. Try there Genie dosa. You will crave forever. Their pav bhaji is a signature item and not to miss when you are there. All other food item had authentic taste. Staff was very friendly. Overall we had great experience and we now go frequently.
We have been to 'Honest' restaurants in other locations too. This is the first time we went to this branch. The ambience was good and the restaurant was clean. The food was tasty. We had the Bahubali sandwich and Bombay vada pav. Vada pav was a bit spicy but decent. Sandwich was really good. The cashier mentioned that they'll give a 10% off if we gave a spot review on Google. Then she saw my friend standing next to me and asked for both of our reviews to give 10% off. Honestly, that was a little sus. I wonder what would have happened if we were a party of ten :P
Amazing food. I ordered Panjabi Thali. Worth of money. So Yummy. Great Indian taste. They have fixed menu for thali. They gave Chholey, Paneer Masala,Yellow Dal, one butter Nan with basmati rice and addition one sweet rasmalai, papad, pickle, Dahi , salad. I highly recommend to go once. Edit on 01/05/2023 Avoid eating Chhole Bhature puri Chana you regretted to order this. Vegetarian options: It's a vegetarian restaurant. So like me a vegetarian, it's easy to order any thing.
My friend hosted her birthday dinner, we were about 14 people, great customer service & it is very sweet gesture of offering pan as complimentary for all of us. Wonderful place for dinner parties.
Overall experience was good. Ordered Daal Baati Churma and enjoyed it. Taste was very close to authentic Rajasthani daal baati. It was prepared by a chef from Jaipur. On this visit unfortunately I was a bit disappointed. All the dishes I had, lacked punch, or I would say they were flat. The area has a lot of competition. If this Honest location hope to stay in business they need taste the food and set a higher standard. I think listening to the customers is important. I had asked the server to have my dishes prepared spicy. This is very common and Indian restaurants, but instead of making spicy they just gave me some spicy garlic chutney that was it really spicy see the photo.
