The grounds are lovely and a wonderful option for natural burial close by Atlanta, but the staff was incredibly callous and made a difficult time worse. They acted annoyed that our close friend drew such a crowd, and repeatedly implied that anyone that was not family did not matter.  Despite being a natural burial site, which you would expect would draw an outdoorsy and perhaps athletic crowd, they not only do not support people who would like to walk rather than drive, but actively try to prevent and denigrate walking through the woods. Everything is set up for cars, and we were treated like we were causing a big problem by walking and "getting in the way of the cars," when all we wanted was some therapeutic outdoors time for solemn reflection with mutual close friends of the deceased.

If having people walk on the gravel road is undesirable to you, please consider adding a separate hiking/walking path out to the chapel and grave sites.  When a 32 year old dies on a bike ride, you shouldn't be surprised when his friends want to go for a walk to reflect on his life.  Repeatedly telling us it was a 1.5 hour walk each way was absurd, as it was barely more than a mile and took us about 20 minutes at a moderate to leisurely pace.  We actually beat the majority of the cars there, and it wasn't just because "we were in the way of the cars."  

We were not trying to be disobedient or obstinate, we were simply trying to grieve our close friend the best way we knew how.
