Honey & Sage Salon: The Aveda Hair Whisperers I had a wonderful experience with Honey & Sage Salon about a month ago after a horrible experience at another local salon, the stylist who ruined my hair. My stylist at Honey & Sage explained the other stylist had cut my hair’s V shape too bluntly and given my texture of hair (fine but a lot of it making it thick as well) and the shape causes the hair cuticle to tangle and bond, creating a lovely “tail” if you will. Horrified because it took me almost an hour to comb my hair out completely and about 20 minutes for it to tangle again, I walked into Honey & Sage nearly in tears asking if they had a walk in available. The hair Gods must have been looking out for me as there was a booking open with stylist “Jessica”. Jessica began with an essential oil scalp massage (complimentary with every cut at Honey & Sage) and then a hair wash. The washing stations are massage tables instead of chairs, so that the neck doesn’t kink when they are washing your hair (so relaxing). She cut my hair, blew it out, and used a smoothing treatment on it to keep the shape and texture. She also suggested a clarifying shampoo that is nut allergy friendly (it smells like mint, jasmine, and lavender) which I absolutely love. Not only did Jessica transform my hair, I got a little bit of a “spa” experience with my cut. Is this not how a day at the salon should be? On a side note, make sure to call and book an appointment in advance. I booked my next cut two months out because they fill up quickly (I understand why, they are fabulous). I highly recommend for those with severe nut allergies as the scalp is an organ as well as the skin and using hair products with nuts can get us allergy folks very ill. Jessica is great with allergies and matching you to products that suit your specifics best, very knowledgable, pleasant, and authentic.

I have been with this Salon pretty much since the beginning, wonderful experience and lovely Stylist & texture specialist. The owner Donna has made this a relaxing and calming atmosphere. I recommend this Salon to everyone who ask me about my hair.
