Glad I found this gem of a restaurant while traveling through the area from PA. The staff was very friendly and answered my questions about the food options. The food was delicious and you get a lot. I was able to have leftovers for lunch the next day. Will definitely visit again if I’m in the area. I got a shrimp double, rice and peas, and a spinach potato roti. Vegetarian options: Vegetable options Parking: Parking lot
We went to D-Spot and the food was reeeaaallllll tasty!!! The food, the service everything was impeccable!!!! The place had gotten busy while I was there and a patron was very nasty didn’t even want to move from the counter so I could pay. She complained about there not being enough help and although I wished the lady had given her a good tongue lashing she remained very professional!!! The food was very good, the prices were too and they’re right in a strip mall so you don’t have to worry about parking and coming from NY that means a lot because all of the good restaurants don’t have parking. I will definitely be returning!!!
I got a boneless chicken Roti and it was so delicious. Hot and fresh. The size of the roti was much bigger than I expected. I my remote control and drink for a size comparison. It is huge! Like the size of two burritos side by side. The size of my whole hand. Looking forward to coming back and trying other things on their menu.
I’m giving this establishment 2 stars. Though the roti skin was good the curry chicken wasn’t great. You could taste the uncooked curry. You have to burn your curry. It does not matter what ethnicity or type or curry you are cooking, you still have to burn it. If you don’t your curry will lack depth, correct color, taste gritty and upset your stomach. Unfortunately, I was left with an upset stomach and a roti I had to discard.
So my husband and I drive an hour just to get their food and it’s never everrrrr a disappointment. It is sooooo delicious and just wow. We always tell eachother it’s worth the drive. Literally just a pick up and an hour drive back home. It’s amazing and I always recommend it to people
I really enjoyed everything I got here. I drove 40 minutes just to try out this spot and yes it was worth it! I am Trinidadian and the food was authentic as can be! I got 4 doubles with everything, 1 boneless and 1 with bone curry chicken roti, with buss up shut and 1 extra dal puri roti skin which i did not need, 1 beef with rice and peas, 1 curry shrimp with white rice and a mango chow! It was all great tasting and I definitely would go back if I need a true taste of home! Good spot!
A friend asked me to surprise her with a dinner selection that would represent a belated quick meal for us to share between things we needed to do. She had never had roti or doubles ... shied away from the hot sauce with good sense and enjoyed a bit of the milder/sweeter sauce on hers. As it was take away, we had to roll our own roti and with her skills she pulled it off and we enjoyed a split roti between us. That along with doubles a piece, and we were set. Recommend you try the bitters sparkling drink they now have in their case. She, as a newby to this said she enjoyed the flavors and would definitely eat again!
I went there with my spouse who is from Trinidad. The person behind the counter was really nice and courteous. I watched her interact with a group who said they have never eaten this type of food before. The food itself was great and the portions large. We took a bunch extra to freeze and eat later.
Picked up food from here three to four times in the last couple of years and were never disappointed. Our favorite dish is their doubles---something like chickpea curry in between a fried bread---very yummy. We liked their chicken, goat, and shrimp dishes as well. Very good value for the money. 100% recommended.
Being a born and raised in South Trini where good roti shops are everywhere, I know a thing or two about good East Indian food. They’re definitely the best I’ve had in NJ or PA. Their roti is better than what I’ve had in queens. Their doubles is pretty decent but queens will win that battle. Overall, quality trini Indian food and the price isn’t bad either.
