It's a beautiful historic hotel in a great location - in and out was easy with the valet garage, which is a nice plus in the French Quarter. The room was nice and clean, with a comfy bed. However, we were given a hotel room with no window, which has never happened to me! It helped us sleep in, but there were no substitutions available because they were booked. Also, one of two elevators in our tower broke at checkout time, the building showing its age. Carousel Bar is fun if you can get in, but we were surprised to be herded out at 1 am on a Thursday night.

The hotel is very lovely and well decorated. The room was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The carousel bar is downstairs which is particularly cool! The bar slowly rotates as if it were a carousel. There was another restaurant in the lobby that I did not have a chance to check out, but it seemed really nice. They have a rooftop pool and bar, but they were closed when I went to go they were closed. But the rooftop pool looks absolutely awesome! The staff were very accommodating, and the ladies at the front desk did us a favor and were so helpful! The hotel is located pretty close to Bourbon Street, and it is nearby so many really good restaurants and bars. I would 100% stay here again.

Historical hotel with amazing service. The staff was friendly, helpful, and just cool folks all around. The rooms are nice, clean, and the room service food is excellent. We brought our dog with us and this hotel treats the pets as well as the humans. If you are staying in the French Quarter make sure to check out HM.

Very reasonable rates, extremely friendly staff and absolutely gorgeous decor. Will stay here again without a doubt! I wanted to add some additional comments on what I believe sets this place apart: the staff. Every single employee that I encountered left no doubt that they were genuinely happy that I was there and took a personal interest in making sure that my time in their hotel and New Orleans at large was nothing short of terrific. Yes, all were very professional, but they also had this delightful, charming folksy vibe. It's hard to express it's impact on me as a guest, but it takes the "welcoming" quotient to uncharted levels. I've visited New Orleans 50+ times and have never felt more like a "regular" than I did on this trip thanks to the great people at Hotel Monteleone.

The ambiance lived up to all the comments I heard from other people. It's very nostalgic and gives off the vibe of the 1920s with ladies and flapper dresses. The bartender was beyond professional and mixed several fantastic drinks for us. It's called the carousel for reason. The bar actually rotates... very slowly but it does rotate. When we go back to New Orleans we will frequent this restaurant and bar we may even stay at the hotel
