Good food. I never was disappointed in anything I've ordered. We always have family parties here. They are very accommodating.

Before I make my negative comments, I'll start with the positive.  The staff was friendly and the bartenders were great.  The hotel was not either of those things.  There was no elevator, which makes it difficult for older people and those with young children.  In other reviews, I read that there was a "water pressure issue", which the hotel attributed to a problem with the water company, which is false.  We had a "problem with the water" during our weekend there, too.  There was no water or it alternated between scalding hot and frigid when we were lucky enough to have it.  I'll give the hotel a little pass on the plumbing since it's almost 200 years old, but fix the plumbing.  There is no reason to not be able to take a shower in a hotel in the 21st century.  On top of that, the carpets were disgusting and the room smelled terrible.  On the first morning there, I looked under the bed and saw garbage (food wrappers and papers) left from a previous guests' stay.  The worst issue for my wife and I was the cost of our stay, $141.00 a night is ludicrous for a hotel with no water and trash on the floor.  They can only charge that because of the lack of competition in the area.  If I go back to the area, I'm bringing a tent and staying at a campground.

Delicious food, Girard bartended excellent he has a full bar and doesn't miss anyone.
