One of the best sushi spots in CT. The staff are super friendly and attentive. Great appetizers, entrees, and cocktails. Aki makes a great ramen for those cold days. His menu always has something new to try. I highly recommend Kaiseki Menu, but make sure you call to make a reservation, it’s a masterpiece that melts in your mouth.
Always a delight to eat here, with the varied choices, between traditional Japanese foods, sushi, fried bits and often some specials that you might not expect. One of the big winners for me was the poké bowl. Real Hawaiian style, not that bloated stuff you're finding at chains that has kale and pita in it! Features: Masks not required, tables are spaced far enough apart. The location is still a small intimate establishment.
Having lived in Japan for the past 7 years, finding good and authentic Japanese food here has been a mission. Most places I take a look at the menu and that’s enough for me, it doesn’t resemble Japanese food at all. Until I drove past this place. The name was a give away as it didn’t have a generic tacky Japanese name, and further research taught me that this place was Japanese owned. First thing I noticed upon entering was that there were Japanese people eating here, a good sign for me. The waiter Shun-San is a Tokyo native and it was a good chance to speak some Japanese. The menu was decent and the sushi not too bad. The tempura was fantastic. I’d say it’s adapted somewhat for the local palette but if I want Japanese food, this is where I will go to get my fix, and it’s the only place you should go too if you want close to authentic Japanese food. I didn’t try the ramen dishes which I will next time, and they have sake too.
We ordered 72 pieces as an appetizer for a large family gathering and it was fantastic. Sushi was beautifully arranged on two platters, with plenty of ginger and wasabi and soy. It was a big hit, especially with the younger half of the family. The whole thing was gone in about 20 minutes! Fresh and delicious. Staff was great and helped me figure out a good selection to order. Will definitely order again. Vegetarian options: The pickled vegetable roll was really good, more interested than the usual veggie roll. Dietary restrictions: Easily accommodated gluten free
First time having sushi in almost two years, and I'm so glad to have it back in my life at House of Yoshida. The restaurant was very accommodating. I made a reservation the same day for a party of five for an outdoor dinner. Our table at House of Yoshida was set up perfectly and ready upon our arrival. Shun took care of us the entire night. Very accomodating incredibly with my food allergies. He indeed went above and beyond our dining expectations. The food was very delicious! I ordered fresh sashimi and Japanese steak. My tummy was completely satisfied. I can't want to come back to bring more of my friends and family! I recommend it to all.
SOOOOO delicious. I love the atmosphere. we got the sirloin steak and were extremely impressed. The price is fair. The chef was wonderful and walked around to check in with everyone. They also treated us for dessert :
Delicious I love their sushi I'm still trying to find the time to actually go and enjoy the food there! They are super nice, the resturant is always busy and always clean!
My first trip to House of Yoshida and it was great. I started with a tempura appetizer and had a beef fried rice for dinner. They were both great and I’d love to eat there again.
The hot foods were good, but the sushi didn’t taste fresh and wasn’t prepared well, and it is likely we won’t visit them again.
One of Bethel's best restaurants. I come here whenever possible. Be sure to ask for the specials as they change weekly, often even daily. The sushi is always top grade and the ramen is another favorite of mine. The pork belly is a must as well. Be sure to try it out. PS the walk and plum wine is great too!
