At the end, I was happy to no longer have to take the crazy steep hill to go to my room. The bed is really comfortable, I liked to sleep over there. I also like the waffle machine available every mornings! I recommend unless you plan to visit NYC by car. Indeed, as the hotel is in New Jersey, you'll have to pay each time you go in/out of the town. We paid $15 to enter NYC.

An inexpensive place to stay if you're visiting NYC. Clean rooms, very comfortable bed and quiet hotel. One of the best continental breakfasts I've encountered. Great place to rest and spend time in The Big Apple!

What a dump. My sister paid $190 for a HOTEL room and we ended up with an HoJo Express MOTEL room. The wallpaper was torn and very badly worn. The sink stopper was broken completely, and the countertop in the bathroom tilted toward the floor so everything rolled off the sink as we were getting ready to go to a show in New York City. There was some pounding loud music coming from somewhere at 2:00am, and I'm not sure if it was coming from a room or from a nearby club or restaurant. The area is very shady. When I went outside to investigate where the music was coming from, a guy approached me and was aggressively asking me my name and if I had a boyfriend or a husband, and whether or not I wanted to party with him. He followed me to my room and waited for me to get get my key card to work... telling me he just wanted to make sure I was safe, which was complete BS- I was afraid that he would go to the front desk and try to get a key to our room. My sister did not pay for us to stay in a dive motel, that's why she picked Howard Johnson and paid $195 for a room. Do not stay in this place.

This is by far the worst hotel experience I ever had the displeasure of having. I mistakenly booked a smoking room; now, I have no problem taking responsibility but I got to the room and it reeked of marijuana! Completely unacceptable! I had to go through customs the next day, and needless to say it created some olfactory anxiety as I had just spent the night in a hotel room that smelled like ILLEGAL drugs! I attempted to have the room changed but the person at the desk was adamant about the place being full, even though the site said otherwise. She did not even look in the computer or seemed phased at all when I mentioned the cannabis issue. She actually said "well it's a smoking room". Maybe cigarettes, but it sure isn't a pot smoking room! No compensation of any kind was offered. Also a towel had a blood stain on it. STAY AWAY!

Worst motel I have been to! The bed sheets stunk so we had to use towels to cover during the first night. We immediately left the next morning (we paid for 3 nights!)
