DO NOT GO AND DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG! We went on a short walk through this park from the road to the Peconic (July 3, 2016) and in less than an hour the four people in our group got about 10 ticks each on us.  We went here because it was one of the few parks in the area that allows dogs but our dog ended up covered in about 40 ticks that we spent the rest of the day removing.  I would not recommend going here until they get the ticks under control and feel strongly that it's unsafe to bring your dog.
