What an unexpected and wonderful B&B!  My fiancé and I had planned to stay in a hotel, "along-the-way" near Sandpoint, ID.,  and be checked in some time around 6 o'clock.  As it turned out every hotel, motel, and B&B we called on or stop at was full...clear into Spokane!  We finally located a bed-and-breakfast in Chewelah. We called and Ian answered the phone.  He was very nice but hesitant to have guests (as they just put in new countertops and were waiting on the glue to cure) he reluctantly agreed to let us stay, due to our dilemma. We had no idea where this B&B was but headed that way.  At 11:15 pm, we arrived at Huckleberry Haven! We knew the min. we stepped out of the truck we were in the wonderful place. Ian greeted us with a warm welcome and helped bring our things in.  The interior of their log home was absolutely beautiful! Ruth showed us to our room and we settled in.  We went to sleep with the window open and the wind gently wrestling the leave on the trees. What a wonderful nights sleep.  The morning was filled with a wonderful breakfast of huckleberry pancakes, real maple syrup, eggs, fresh fruit, juice and coffee!  YUMMMM!  We spent a good amount of time visiting with Ian and Ruth, on the warm sunny deck overlooking the beautiful landscape and open field.  What a wonderful, quiet, secluded retreat from the fast-paced life we live. We will be back!
