I’ve always liked this place especially for breakfast. I’d give it a 5 but I always leave feeling like I spent too much money even though the food has always been great and the service friendly and attentive. Delicious, home cooked meals for sure with amazing cobblers for desert.

We really want to support small businesses. But the last couple of times we have visited (especially for breakfast) the food has been slow to come out , not hot , almost on the brink of cold. The pancakes, biscuit eggs and and toast were all room temperature and couldn't even melt room temperature butter. It's a shame, because we really wanted to love this place given the age and just homey feel, but we actually have begun to favor cracker barrel over HCC. The prices are cheaper, the portions are larger, and the food is always hot. 

I hope they maybe get more help on the weekends with servers /waiters/ runners that could get the food out as soon as it hits the window instead of allowing it to cool prior to hitting the table.

Some difficulty parking. Great food and serving size. Wait staff polite and attentive. Down home food and atmosphere. Think you will like it.I did.

This is a pretty neat historic restaurant. It is generally not very busy, and I kind of feel sorry for them because I can tell they put a lot of effort into the decorating and the food but they just are not that popular for some reason. The only real knock I have on this place is that entryway when you walk in feels like an abandoned gift shop. The dumplings are great and the cornbread is always good with the cinnamon butter. The service is generally pretty good too.

Good place to get some "home cooked" food.   Good menu choices, good wait staff and reasonable prices.   Stop in have a bite enjoy yourself.
