This is a great and wonderful central library in Eureka for the Humboldt Library system. It is spacious with easy to find collections for all ages. I especially like the children's department with computers, DVDs, music, books on CD, and a large variety of children's books for babies through 10-12 year old children. Programs are abundant and I manage the adult Friday Afternoon Book Club that meets the 2nd Friday of every month at noon. We have lively discussions on all sorts of member selected titles.

Have good books and movies..aint a bad place only problem is the homeless..had a guy sleeping under the play ground..scared the hell out of me. Not a best place to bring children..needs to be cleaned up a bit. Homeless needs to be chased off. Bird poop needs to be cleaned on the outside and the play area can be updated a bit.

Big library. Very transient kinds sketch leaving when they close and is dark. Computers are not the best and limit time. Santa Cruz computers are better but this library has better selection of books

I visited this library hoping to find a new place to hang out. I'm young and just moved here. Unfortunately, although I love the actual place, I ran into a situation that shook me up so bad I couldn't go back. After browsing there about an hour and a half I was approached by a young man who became agitated at my choice of reading and began growing increasingly irritable and angry at nothing, including repeatedly asking me my personal information as to WHY I moved here to the redwoods and told me on no uncertain terms, I don't understand what the redwoods are REALLY about. He was clearly very high on meth and acting insane. My friend who'd left to go to the bathroom came back and he proceeded to be rude and disrespectful, asking her her gender by saying "So, what do you want me to call you? IT?" (She is tall and has short hair) And we left as soon as we could from that section. I told the front and was very quiet as I was truly shaken up. He looked angry and as if he'd explode at any moment. She said they'd address it. I went to the bathroom and hid in a corner area. Upon realizing he was still there (no one had apparently addressed this) we left. It was horrible and I don't recommend it.

I visited for the Wi-Fi, which was good. I also used the computer once to update my resume.
