Story

Hunter County Cuisine & Wine Bar will be opening on Hunter Street in Peterborough in May 2017. We are excited to invite you to try our farm to table cuisine in a warm, welcoming environment. We strive to serve entirely local, Ontario grown food with a focus on sustainability, animal welfare and organic practices. Our 'eat local' concept will extend to our beverage program where we will offer over 75 Ontario craft beers and the best selection of wines produced in Ontario.

I had the Pheasant Normandy with the Muskoka Autumn Ale. It was fantastic, the dish was enormous and the bird was cooked to perfection. The pork skin really mellowed the sweetness of the apple and made for a sensational balance of savory and sweet. The food is priced well for the quality and I highly recommend it. Be sure to get extra portions of the rosemary focaccia bread!

We walked down to Hunter street to eat at one of our regulars, and saw the white linens on the table in the window, so went in to investigate. It was a great find... The food was delicious, the service impeccable ( and the price very fair). So, so glad we tripped over this new restaurant. Will definitely be back and will recommend to friends. Well done!

Only downside was lack of air conditioning. We went on a very humid day so it was slightly uncomfortable. Food and service was awesome though.

I try and eat local as much as possible. I take advantage of the farmers markets regularly and also am a big fan of tiny greens downtown... now take all that local focus and roll it in delicious breadings, cook it to perfection, present it like a picasso masterpiece, and pour ontario weird biers all over it.... this begins to give you a sense of the kind of sensational experience you're going to have at HCC. I've been there a couple times now and shawn is honestly probably the best server I've had in peterborough over the years. I've enjoyed his knowledgeable professionalism and humor at another fine dining establishment previously and was pleased to see him involved with this new offering in the 'hunter district'. great food, great staff, incredibly fair pricing for the works of food-art you put inside your face here. 5/5. if you dun'no, now you know.
