There were so many things that made our stay at Hyannis marina great. The courtesy cars are very helpful, the staff is friendly and flexible and it's conveniently located within walking distance of downtown.

Our experience for the start of Figawi in Hyannis couldn't have been any better! Had a GREAT sail up from CT, arrived a day early to provision/gear up. Entertained by watching all the arrivals, Hyannis Marina is a really big Marina but with only about a few dozen open slips and 100 + boats arrive for that Friday - FUN time for all! The sailboat scene is beautiful and impressive with a range of sailboats from small to colossal! Really enjoyed the restaurants, bar scene and early breakfast, easy parking for crew and ALL that the staff does to make our stay enjoyable! We can't wait for Figawi 2017 in Hyannis!

MARINER BEWARE!! I had reserved a slip to sail in the Figawi Race. I was then later told by the manager (Carla) that if I didn’t book a slip for the DAY BEFORE then I would have to raft up to someone at the marina. In other words: If you reserve a slip… you’re NOT guaranteed a slip unless you book one for the previous day as well. What kind of a system is that?? I was then told that this was a special circumstance for the Figawi race and that this policy was in the fine print on my reservation. Well, I went back and checked the reservation and this policy was not mentioned at all. I also checked the website for the Hyannis Marina and this policy was not mentioned there either. So let me ask this: If you go on vacation and book a hotel room, would you expect your own room? Or would it be okay if the hotel called you ahead of time and said: “since you didn’t pay for the room the day before that you will have to share your room with someone else?” Would that be okay? I then asked about the damage policy. I have a wooden boat built in 1936. If someone is going to raft up to me (someone who is in town to get drunk and party) and they damage my boat – what is going to happen? The marina responded “Well, we’ve never had an incident like that” and “well, it would be like if you got in an accident in a car.” Huh?? What kind of a place is this? On top of all of the above Carla the manager was extremely rude. Apparently she didn’t like that I called her bogus system a “shake down” – which it is. She then told me that she would NOT honor my reservation because I was the one being rude. I find it ironic that on the reservation form it states: “"Whatever we can do to make your visit extra special, call us". Well, Carla and her friends at the Hyannis Marina must have their own definition of “special.” Avoid at all costs. Use a different marina. Anchor. Skip this godforsaken joke of a marina.
