Atmosphere is nice and bright with good brunch vibes. Service was accommodating and professional. But the food was bad. The chicken satay had nice spice flavor but it was super greasy and kinda soggy. The fried rice had good texture but tasted fishy when it was supposed to be chicken. It's possoble they didn't clean the pan between meals.
It's like finding small glittery token of magic and wonder while wading in a roadside puddle. A complete surprise! And talk about convenient? For those of us who are getting old and have more visits to Kaiser than we wold like to admit or keep, have a great little Thai place within walking distance. Run in and pickup your copious meds and then trot over to I Am Thai and reward yourself for being old and still waking up in the morning. Yes, I know, a good place for young people, but who cares about them. I had the Tom Yum Noodle Soup and it was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. Hiding right there in plain sight disguised in a tiny mall. The large crunchy chips looked a little like fried Easter Bunny ears peeking out of my savory, spicy broth, but they were delicious. The decor is simple without being unfriendly. The space is a bit awkward... ungainly like people trying to eat in a long bowling alley. The kitchen is off to the side making the place into a long and narrowing corridor as you go back. The furniture is simple and utilitarian and the television runs jokes, which I like better than sports, but is completely out of place. But the broth was what it was all about. I love the places that grind up their chicken before throwing it into the broth, so that the flavor leaves no part untouched. How did this place evade me for so long? I never noticed it and suddenly it was there like a mushroom that springs from the earth seeming full grown and permanent as if laughing that you never noticed it before. My first messy slurp My wife dreads these soup forays that leave me grease streaked had that initial moment where you thought this might be a bit too spicy and then suddenly it whispers in your ear and you feel this deep red satisfaction as you slide slowly into the bowl. Maybe it's time to schedule a doctors visit so I have an excuse to swing through that neighborhood and take a flying leap into the amazing Tom Yum,,
I know Thai food and this is the best I've had. We had fried rice, Tom Yum with noodles and garlic pepper rib eye steak. Excellent. Had no room for the mango dessert so we will be back soon.
Amazing Thai food with options that range from noodles to rice dishes and a variety of meat options. The portions are generous for the price point, so be sure to come hungry! Kid-friendliness: Friendly place for families to eat Parking: Shared parking lot
Delicious Thai food and friendly, fast service. I got the pad se ew with chicken and it was so yummy and perfect. Also got a Thai iced tea. Would come again!
Tasty food but, foul attitude from the cashier. When you pay $40 for 3 entrees. 3-4 decent size condiments is not too much to ask. 1 chili sauce 1/4tsp chili sauce per entree is reasonable I think. Good Grief, lets all do better people and just be nice and generous to each other. This review won't review won't hurt your business, but people notice this behavior and just don't say anything. Just be a generous kind business here please and thank you. Very nice dishes. Cheers
The food is well worth the wait and the price! While I was there, the staff handled an extremely rude customer with grace while simultaneously serving the 10 other customers in the store. I would highly recommend I am Thai to anyone looking for quality Thai food in the Salmon Creek area!
Often the food is delicious. For our order tonight, we waited an hour and a half 40 min quoted take out time plus I waited an additional 45 mins after arriving for pickup at the quoted time. When we got the food home, one dish was inedible and the other 'rice' dish was missing the rice. The Pad Kee Mao noodles were so over cooked that they lost all form and was mush. I requested spicy and there was no spice at all. It was so bad I tossed it out. The spicy basil rice was good, except it was missing the rice. I'm not sure if staffing is the issue or what is going on, but, unfortunately, this once rock solid restaurant has become hit or miss.
The food is amazing, the best part was the salad rolls and honey toast ice cream. I’m Very picky with my salad rolls, I don’t like hard chewy wrappers, but their salad rolls are by far the best I’ve tasted in Vancouver. The wrapper melted in my mouth and that is what I look for. I’m not some kind of food connoisseur but really it was so fresh and the wrapper was melt in your mouth crazy. Not chewy or hard at all! Just perfect, trust me once you’ve had salad rolls like this it’s hard to eat others. The one thing I didn’t like was my food took 45 minutes to get to me, my drink took 30 minutes and my salad rolls didn’t come until 45 mins from order. I’m used to going to Thai places and in 10 minutes you have your drink and appetizer. I honestly almost gave up and would’ve walked out. came here on a Sunday night and got there at 5:50, ordered at 6:00 and my salad rolls came at 6:46. My dinner came 15 minutes later. Only reason I took a star away. But the staff were supper friendly and attentive once I had my food on my table. Who knows maybe they were busy and backed up. I will come back because honestly the food is amaze and staff are nice. I can get impatient when I’m hangry.
What an amazing food, place and service. It was really difficult to stop eating because every little thing tasted so good. Food: Rib eye steak, Chicken skewers with cashew sauce Drink: IPA on tap
