Outside is sooo scary, disgusting, you lock your car 3 times we drove out and almost missed a great place, came back after a friend’s suggestion and WOW GREAT FOOD, great service, great selection. The bathroom was not the neatest but I think that’s the environment. The selection was fresh, delicious, anyone and everyone could find something to enjoy. The desserts outside out the generic ice creams were scrumptious. Just close your eyes after parking, get someone to guide you in and you will be forever greatful for their greatness. Parking: Scary people out there Kid-friendliness: Great food for them to choose, I have 3 picky eaters and they all actually ate everything
Remember that time you’ve been mulching and mowing nonstop and it’s now 5pm and you’ve had nothing? This is the place to appease that beastly appetite. A nasty guilty pleasure kind of place. They’ve got everything, and lots of seats to fit voracious groups. Great sushi, kanikama, fried plantains, octopus, various types of fish… all sorts of beautiful animals to devour. It’s ~$15/mouth so a good feeding frenzy option in Durham. We saw a couple of elderly folks with a mountain of crawfish too, so that’s also an option.
Because it is a buffet I cannot expect much quality in the food, however, I did not like what I saw, especially in the fruits and desserts. I only tried sushi and didn't like. Ah! We were greeted by a dead cockroach at the entrance. Golden Corral is superior.Food: 3/5
This is quite a busy place but the buffet is very well stocked. I was surprised at how well the crab legs were kept stocked. The servers came by often to gather empty plates. There is a wide selection of food, although I didn't see any labels so I didn't know what was spicy and what was not.Food: 5/5
So much food! Everything I had was hot, tasty and delicious. We ate lunch here on a Monday around 12:30. $11.95 for all you can eat was a good deal. Of course, we ate too much but it was so worth it! After our drink orders we headed to the hibachi first, to the right. Put in our orders, rice or noodles, chicken, beef, shrimp, lots of vegetables. Then while that was cooking we headed to the food bars. There was so much selection, I was like a little kid in a candy store. I had three different types of fish, three different types of shrimp, crabmeat, stuffed crab, fried chicken, sautéed mushrooms, fruit and vegetables. Everything was clean, the staff was very friendly. The food trays were heaping full and steaming hot. Did not try the salads or desserts, maybe next time. Forgot to take a picture of the grilled food. While the booths may be a little worn, they were comfortable. The staff was attentive in taking the dirty plates away, plenty of refills on drinks, friendly and smiling. I loved it! Overall, a wonderful buffet. Will be back for sure. Note: Tipped the hibachi chef and the nice guy who gave us refills and cleaned up our table.
Be aware of take out Buffet Prices and definition of each. I got a plate for my dinner with fish, calamari, string beans and chicken which weighed 1.44lbs. I was charged $9.99/LB versus $7.99/lb because it wasn't a mixed food tray. I was told after I made my plate it had 90% seafood. She opened up my tray several times and pointed this out. I dont like people breathing over my prepared plate She said they look and determine price; if it looks more than 60% seafood you will be charged a seafood plate. I'm allergic to shellfish and didn't care for a lot of chicken. Did not want pork nor beef. I felt the cost was not comparable with the food but lesson learned. The food was OK but apparently the locals love it. I may visit again some day. Either she pretended to not know my question to clarify the prices or she was not interested in answering my question as she pulled out a calculator. I had calculated the price in my head with taxes. That's why I immediately questioned the total. The prices are not the issue but rather explanation of how they are applied.
Not bad. The outside looks sketchy lol and the inside is dated but the food is quite good! The hibachi grill toward the back is awesome. Price is competitive too. Like any buffet, just pay attention to what has been replenished recently when choosing your food.Food: 4/5
Great Chinese buffet in Durham. Has Hibachi and Sushi as well. Stopped by for lunch and the price was $10.99 for adult as of December 2022. Lots of selection even seafood for lunch and the food was generally tasty. Mostly Americanized Chinese food though which is as normally expected. They also have ice cream and dessert stations.
Dirty I asked the manager to take an look an he declined. Food seems full of msg not fresh today or chemicals to make u full faster. Health inspector an ice need to take an visit. Unsanitary environment. No gloves no sanitizer in sight. Very little English being spoke.Food: 2/5
I've been here many times... there's quite a variety at the buffet, often with American or at least non Asian dishes too. Even their pizza is good. They also have sushi, made to order hibachi food, and 6-8 flavors of ice cream. Everything isn't perfect every time but there are always plenty of good eats to be had. I didn't recommend going close to closing time, as many dishes won't be replenished and you'll just have whatever's left and has been sitting a while. But that's kind of to be expected at a buffet restaurant.
