Great experience! We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was no line. The host was really sweet and friendly. The dining area was peaceful, it was a different experience. I prefer a thicker noodle as you only get thin noodles; you can choose your firmness of the noodle which was nice. Firm was not hard enough, I like mines al dente. It’s helpful that the ordering machines tell you which options are recommended. I got the light oiliness and it was perfect for me on a hot day.
I went on a Friday night around 6:15 PM and only waited for around 15 minutes. The ramen was good but didn't feel particularly special. Perhaps my expectations were too high. The food came out pretty quickly, and the staff were nice. The only downside was that the bathroom was kind of gross.Food: 4/5
This is one of the most popular ramen shops from Japan. Its claim to fame was the availability to dine out by oneself at a restaurant. The key feature for its popularity is that when dining alone, there are minimal interactions with staff or other customers. Regardless, the food is good and the service is fast.Food: 3/5
4 stars This is a famous ramen chain restaurant and they only serve one kind of ramen. There is typically a queue but the waiting time isn’t bad due to high turnover. We ordered classic tonkotsu with recommended toppings that included chashu, mushroom, seaweed, and soft boiled egg. I would say the flavor was relatively authentic and tasted good but nothing fancy. You can adjust the saltiness and texture of noodle. Recommended for someone who wants a quick and simple ramen meal.
One of the best ramen I ever had! I recommend for first time trying it with their recommended level for like flavors to see how it is. Next visit try customizing it! Their spice level can go up to level 20! Level 5-10 is pretty good! I recommend trying their matcha pudding and get their bundle for more toppings. I also thought it was interesting that it was a no tipping establishment!
Ichiran Ramen in Midtown Manhattan is a unique and delicious spot, perfect for introverts who enjoy minimal interaction. The ramen is amazing, with rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. The individual dining stalls add a fun and private touch to the meal. However, the hostess could be a bit more welcoming and friendly. If you’re visiting with a group, be ready to be split up or wait for four individual stalls to become available. The price is on the higher side, and they only offer pork or veggie options. This slight inconvenience is outweighed by the exceptional quality of the ramen. For a unique and tasty ramen adventure, Ichiran is a top choice in the city.
The closest dining experience to Japan. A popular Japanese restaurant with 3 branches in New York. The style of dining is with minimal interaction. You choose your ramen from the screen at the entrance and get allotted a booth. The broth was rich, the noodles were cooked to preference. The ramen itself was perfect. You can ask for extra spicy if you fancy it or for extra chilli oil at the booth. You can order add-ons like karage or egg from your booth. They also have matcha beer on tap which tastes like it sounds. PS: you can also sit in adjoining booths if available.
Really good vegan Ramen. If you don’t mind paying $25 for a bowl of noodles then I do recommend it. Otherwise had similar in Queens for $15. Authentic feel & ambiance. Fast & efficient ordering process. Great business model for other establishments to follow… FAST FAST SERVICE after getting seated
Craving a solo ramen adventure? Look no further than Ichiran. Dive into their private dining booths for a customized classic tonkatsu ramen experience. Customize your bowl just the way you like it, and don’t forget to add some extra sides for the perfect meal. The broth is bursting with flavor, and every bite of their signature ramen is pure perfection. Save room for their decadent matcha pudding – it’s so rich, creamy, and absolutely irresistible. Trust me , you won’t regret indulging in this dessert delight! Oh, and before you leave, make sure to snag one of their take-home ramen kits for an Ichiran experience right in your own kitchen. Highly recommended for all ramen lovers out there!
The perfect place for a solo lunch with an incredible ramen. Only one choice which is customisable. Service is very speedy and the intimate booth is perfect. Such a flavoursome broth and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Definitely come here if you’re craving ramen.Food: 5/5
