Idaho Falls Power

About

In 1900, the City of Idaho Falls first generated power from an irrigation canal running through town. That generator was fired up to light street lights on nights when there was not a full moon. How times have changed...

After living multiple places around the country, this is BY FAR the worst service and especially customer service I've ever received. Don't ever have unexpected life circumstances or miscommunication come up when dealing with these guys, many people have had the same issues I have - there was a mistake on the Power Company's end and it's all YOUR fault. Above all else, try to never have to deal with the lady in the billing department (LORI). She's degrading, inconvenienced by her job and downright RUDE to customers. Best of luck if you live in the area of Idaho Falls Power.

Nasty, rude company. Doesn't send me a bill for over 3 months, when I call to complain they act like it's my fault that they never sent a bill. Idaho inbreed laws make this possible

After moving out of an apartment, I went and paid my final bill, even called later to make sure I didn't have a further bill, over a year later I get a phone call from a debt collector telling me that I owe money for this! I was blown away, I never once got a phone call, I never once got a bill or a letter or anything! I forwarded my address, I even told them my new address when I went to pay my final bill. This place is awful! I'm so glad I'm with rocky mountain power now.

No complaints about prices or service. When he power goes out it typically gets up and running pretty quickly.

Ever since I got my new "smart meter" installed, my power bill began to rise. Now, my power bill is consistently higher this year than it was in the last two years. I think the "smart meters" are insidious and have an ulterior motive behind them. I think that given enough time and data, one would be able detect certain behaviors of the people in a residence. These "smart meters" collect you daily usage data and Idaho Falls Power stores this information in an insecure location, fully vulnerable to collection by the National Security Agency. Idaho Falls' liberal city council and mayor are tripping over themselves to get the city Agenda 21 compliant and the "smart meters" are just one cog in the machinery. Go ahead and laugh me off but this is for real. Idaho Falls Power is collecting your private electrical usage information and is storing it for later use. Just think, using information gathered from these "smart meters," a court or judge could review your power usage in the home indicates whether or not you were present in the home during a specific time. For example, an over-zealous family attorney for your ex-wife could theoretically subpoena that information to make a case of whether or not your kids had your undivided attention during all times you have custody of them. Kids in bed and you slipped out to the gas station for a gallon of milk for 5 minutes? That could be a problem and household electrical usage data could help make a case against you. Wake up!
