Went in here at 3am on a Sunday morning w my husband after work to get something to eat. Got a table n waited 10 minutes to get our coffee n order taken. Didn't get our food til 4am! All we ordered was a turkey sandwich and stack of pancakes. Food came out cold. Was told repeatedly by our server that it wouldn't be long on our food. Very horrible management there. If you're looking for quick excuses this is the place!

My mom has been asking for waffles for a few weeks now.  Today was her 89th birthday so we diligently explored our options for a nice restaurant serving waffles.  
After asking, reading, and surfing, we chose IHOP in Madison.  Eight of us gathered there.  Given the circumstances of a 'birthday breakfast' we were placed in a separate dining room that gave us leave to sing and make merry.  
From the minute we walked through the door (which was being held open for us by one of the lovely employees) to being seated, and being greeted by David, the manager, our experience was delightful.
Dasha was our server and we thoroughly enjoyed all the special attention she gave us, the 'amazing' ability to remember our order perfectly without putting pen to paper, and the conscientiousness of having all our orders on the table piping hot ... at the same time ! (I think the cook helped on that one... thank you ! )  Our coffee was refilled, we received the requested xtra butter and syrup (lots of waffles and pancakes going on here) and it was all done with a gracious smile and a readiness to bring anything else we might need.
But...it didn't end with the empty plates.  Here comes an unexpected but much appreciated large and beautifully presented chocolate ice cream sundae with a cherry on top.  Happy Birthday Mom !
In a society where customer service... with eye contact and a smile... seems to be a thing of the past, take a drive down memory lane to IHOP Madison and enjoy.

I only give it 4 stars because of the delay in getting us initial service. We sat at the table for about 15 minutes before they realize that we have not been served. 

Aside from that once the server came and took our order everything was perfect. Drinks and food were exactly as requested. Aside from the minor delays everybody left with a smile.
