Great food and quality service. Once our orders were taken it didn't take long for our food to come out, there were quite a good amount of people coming in too. The atmosphere it pretty good, but could use a little renovation. The only complaint is that I didn't get any water at the end while we were waiting for the check. They got me their spicy house blend for my Ramen, very flavorful and overall a place I would return for a bite! Vegetarian options: They have the menu labeled with vegetarian or vegan options, it's labeled with a V next to the items
Quaint place to enjoy really good Japanese foods. I came here for the ramen. Tonkatsu is what I ordered with an extra Ajitama egg. They open at 12 and by 12:10 they are almost full. Now to have 1 server poses challenges for great service when there's 11 tables to serve, but the server did her best and was able to provide solid basic service which many will be ok with. The Ramen was basic but Great! Simplicity works!! The noodles were perfectly cooked, the Chashu was simple but beautifully done, tender and flavorful. The broth, was rich and creamy and seasoned perfectly. The Ajitamas were great might enjoy a little longer marinate time, but still really good. Overall I'm definitely coming back to try more.
Staff is all so kind and helpful, and the food is great! We always have an amazing experience when we come here. A lot of people get to go orders here, but I definitely recommend coming in to sit down if you have the time. It's a small space but it's very cozy and I guarantee you'll have a good time.Food: 5/5
Ike's is back and better than ever! Best Ramen in Roanoke! Best tonkatsu bone broth in my humble opinion. So many delicious appetizers shrimp shumai, rice balls, gyoza, fried tofu and now serving Hibachi! I recommend arrive within an hour of opening for lunch or dinner. Dining area fills up fast and lots of to-go orders. Worth the wait! AAAA++++
Great staff! They work well as a team! IKE is the man! Everything was perfect. The photo was Jack mackerel set, panko fried, very delish! Came with salad, miso soup, rice, fresh cabbage, and picked cucumbers! Loved those!Food: 5/5
10/10 will most definitely eat here again! Some of the best Japanese cuisine in the area!Food: 5/5
If you look at any of my other reviews, I can be a little cutthroat… but I have not a single negative thing to say about this place. I moved to Roanoke about a year ago and have since been struggling to find good restaurants. Ike’s is by far the best in terms of flavor, quality, and value I’ve encountered thus far. The service was quick and friendly. I would reorder everything we got time and time again. I can’t wait to try more of their menu items!! Ike’s is an absolute blessing on Roanoke.
Ike's Kitchen was one of the best places ever during the pandemic and their return is nothing to scoff at. Yes, the wait times are a lot longer but the food is just as good. Authentic Japanese food at a fraction of the price of other places makes it so so worth it to make the drive across town. Favorite thing on the menu is the Onigiri and the fried chicken!
This place is amazing! Some of the best Ramen i have ever had.Food: 5/5
I was in the area & decided to stop by for lunch after remembering they had just reopened. When I arrived a few mins before opening there were already people waiting at the door, and a steady stream of people kept arriving after they opened their doors. The lone server, bless her soul, did really well at navigating how busy it was. I ordered the tempura shrimp appetizer along with the tonkotsu ramen. The appetizer which could’ve been a meal alone was supposed to come with 3 shrimp, but I only received 2. No biggie. It was delicious. The ramen was underwhelming. I expected it to be like the tonkotsu ramen from Sticks & Spoons, but it wasn’t very flavorful and the ramen to broth ratio was disappointing too much ramen, not enough broth. Not sure if it was like this because of how busy they were or if this is typical of Ike’s ramen. Either way, this doesn’t dissuade me from returning to try some of their other menu items once the hype dies down.
