this is one of the better places in the Bay Area to find a vegetarian sub that doesn't contain portobello mushroom or eggplant. Their vegetarian menu is varied and long. the service is friendly and quick, but the parking situation is atrocious. expect to park on the street. the sandwiches are tasty and the toppings are interesting. you can build your own sandwich or go with anything on the menu with cheese sticks and other delicious things.

Update: This weekend I visited Ike's again and was really disappointed by the poor service. I asked for a slightly bigger paper bag to fit my sandwich and 2 small chips that I had gotten for take out. The girl behind the cash rolled her eyes at me and sighed and handed me the bag. The other girl behind the cash also was very short with customers when someone asked for their receipt she said I already gave it to you don't you see ?!! With a very bad tone ... usually the service is good there but I had never seen theses two girls there before. They might be the bad apples. Old review: we love the sandwiches here. Our favorite is Paul Rubin. It gets quite busy over lunch so expect a line up but it is worth the wait.

Just walked out of this place after being ignored at their register for 15 minutes with people in line behind me, only to find out "they're taking orders in the other side today." No sign at their register and no employee had the courtesy to inform any of us in line of the change (and there were plenty of people who passed by the register several times). I love the sandwiches, and the service is usually fine, but with all the Doordash orders, it's gotten *really slow* for those of us who bother to come in. Today was a terrible experience and I took my business elsewhere. You can do better, Ike's. Or do you just prefer all your customers just use Doordash, now?
