Received conflicting information over the phone as my wife was trying to confirm if she could work as a Speech Path under her temporary license. No one could confirm and was told one day she could and the next day she couldn’t making it extremely difficult for her new employer to verify. Employer told us to drive to Springfield and go to the office and we would have a 50/50 shot. Had an extremely pleasant and quick experience in Springfield. Patrick took the ED form and within 5-10 minutes had processed it and had a license number. Was certainly worth the drive to hurry up an otherwise 6-8 week process.

Took over 2 months for them to send a fingerprint card for out of state background check, despite weekly requests for one. Transcripts were ordered from testing and certification sources (paid for by myself each time) and somehow was lost despite being sent by certified mail, and even worse, somehow lost  documents that were submitted on-line. The one number to call is only "a call center" so you won't get anyone who is actually helpful in any way. Incompetent, sloppy, and the whole organization needs restructuring. Don't know why our tax dollars are gong to pay for this junk.

Notoriously slow, but also not meticulous. They misspelled my name on my license. I typed out my application and they misspelled my first name as Roybn... so it must’ve been a typo. Hard to get a hold of but after days of trying, it only took them a minute to fix it. My colleague said her name was misspelled, too, and she has a common/easy first and last name.

I've had the same issues others have stated. I've been waiting over a month for the Illinois board to send a license verification form to the state I'm transferring to, which is holding up my ability to obtain employment. I've been trying to call the toll-free number for 3 days and always get a busy signal. No response to emails. I called the local number for the licensing office in Springfield; the receptionist told me to call the toll-free line. When I explained that the line is always busy, she said "yes they are very busy. You just have to keep trying." Thanks for taking my money and wasting my time!

I sent paperwork and payment over 6 weeks ago and no one can tell me if it was received or sitting in a pile.  Please create a system that at least checks in documents until fully processed. Gheez!
