I was there to get a new IL license after moving from out of state. I was so impressed with the work ethic of all the clerks. It was lunch hour, almost all the chairs for waiting were taken. Yet it took me not more than an hr start to finish. And all the clerks, at all desks, were attentive, courteous, patient, clear in their explanations, interested to help me successfully complete my task. So unexpected, but such a great and positive experience. Thanks!

Went in on a Thursday at around 10:30am, was out by 10:40. Got my license renewed and paid for and everything. To be fair, it was a little nerve-wracking as I had to take the eye test, but I got in and got out really quickly. I did have to pay $30, instead of what I thought was a $5 charge, but other than that it was relatively painless. The location is a little weird and hard to get to, and the interior makes very little sense, but again, relatively painless experience. At least I don't have to go back for another four years.

Surprisingly fast and pleasant. I expected the worst but my last 2 trips here including one today went perfectly. I don't know why people would leave so many bad reviews. I think the staff there is very friendly especially if you are friendly to them first. If you are not nice to them, I can imagine they will reflect your attitude problem back onto you.

Unfortunately, this is how the govt workers behave and it's completely allowed and standard procedure for them and they don't even get written up or anything. They promote this kind of behavior. If anyone would act like this at any other job they would be fired. Food for thought...
